This is a very insightful and well written article. The only problem that I find with it at all is the assumption that we will always have Black “leaders” speaking for the community. I take the position that we don’t need one voice, or a small group of voices, speaking for millions. We need millions speaking with one voice.

I have a serious problem with a small group of people having so much influence in the Black community. The problem with that is, in a system that is renowned for its corruption, it is much easier to corrupt a small group of men than it is to corrupt an entire community. So we need to start working toward a Black community that is filled with independent thinkers. Because sheep can’t survive in this environment.
