Most are still growing up and follow clothing trends, speech, and behaviors that have developed throughout our prison industrial complex. They are the new universities, and in some ways rites of passage into manhood. This is why people come from other countries and are the ones that usually end up holding graduate degrees. By the time you figure in prison, substance abuse, and early fatherhood, black on black violence, and illness and diseases that are “race specific”. The black man just may in-fact will end up being extinct, taken out either by himself with self destructive behaviors, or by someone living in his community trying to make his bones.
Do yourselves a favor, give up on politics. The answers exist within your own communities. No politician or average cop working his shift is interested in making your community any safer, they could care a less. Also, they are so hypocritical, I can’t believe so many follow them around like they were the original disciples. And the funny thing is not a single one lives where you do, and most importantly your kids DO NOT GO where their kids go to school. They continue to badmouth and lambaste whitey but man they really do like hanging out with him…..lol. I say give yourselves more credit and get involved on whatever level you can get involved in personally.

The diseases that black men out of prison were dying from are diseases of older men, heart disease, cancer, etc. Young men rarely die from heart disease. Check out the median age of a black prison inmate and compare that to the median age of the sample population and see if the study is flawed by comparing two different groups that differed in other ways than whether or not they were in jail.
