It is said that in a world of Christendom in which "positive thinking" and "positive confession" are becoming all the rage, people are afraid to express things that are hurtful and empathize with people who are hurting... and so compassion is getting harder to find in many church houses. My heart goes out to you, as I have also struggled to find comfort in some church environments that see members only as workers to be used to maintain "the program." But, I thank God for His mercy, in that He placed me in a circle of Christians who understand that even the Lord Jesus was "a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief," and wept at the death of a friend; a circle of Christians who have come to terms with their own brokenness and can walk with the Lord in it... and thus, be excellent companions for me, and I for them.

Where Christ is, there His full compassion and love will be; I pray you have found some people Who know Him well and are manifesting His love to you.

This article moved me very greatly, and the Lord has arranged it so that I have access to a number of fellow musicians of similar heart and a number of students... thank you for writing and sharing this, for it has fallen on good ground. There will rise, by the Lord's grace, a good crop of the courageous artists for whom you, and more importantly, the Lord, is calling.

I work hard at being positive. However, I am human and I have my days when I am down. There comes a time when we must sometimes mourn. There is nothing wrong with addressing our hurt, pain and times of depression. As Chrisitians and just as good people we should allow people to do such and to be there for them if we can.

“I don’t understand the connection between courage and faith.” Hmmm....

Doesn't it take courage to have faith. Doesn't it take courage to believe when everything around you tells you that you should not?"
