Let me commend you on taking a stand for what you believe to be the right and responsible thing to do; despite those who feel you’re hating on Wayne or that you don’t understand that parents need to do a better job raising or monitoring what their kids listen to. Here’s the real question though…will boycotting Weezy really do anything to prevent the systemic decay of our culture? Will radio stop playing it? Will those who love Wayne and what he stands for stop supporting him? Will supports really buy into your theory of “recipe for self-destruction”? No, they won’t.

In fact, boycotting will do nothing more than make supports fight for his continue existence in the game. Rather than boycott and continue to turn us against one another, let’s focus on creating alternative vehicles through which are kids and adults can receive more variety.

Let’s face it, all of us over 30 grew up on the Ghetto Boys, NWA, Too Short, Scarface, Spice One, ect.,ect. and we all knew that for the most part, it was eloborate story telling. Today’s youth know it as well; What they don’t realize is how it’s shaping long term attitudes. Therefore, going after the Weezy’s of the world, in my opinion, is a waste of time; rather, find avenues or opportunities for offering variety through the media mogules who support and disseminate the message – don’t kill the messenger; Yesterday’s Bushwick Bill is today’s Little Wayne who’se tomorrows…….
