This article is just to troll Ron Paul supporters. It mentions him in the title but not the article and makes a ludicrous claim against him. Ron Paul hasn't changed his positions on anything.

The entire left / right argument is incredibly useless anyways when discussing libertarian.

But it's a good thing you chose the title you did, you would have gotten 0 comments and reads otherwise.

@John & @Staff
I know you may find it hard to believe, but there are a considerable number of people in the US that support Ron Paul, precisely BECAUSE he doesn't need a 'professional army' of bloggers like most other politicians. What most establishment pols and pundits on both the right and left (a false paradigm IMO) fail to understand is the appeal that individual liberty has in the general population, and how it resonates.

When people expect the government to be the FIRST line of their personal defense, they become susceptible to the loss of personal freedom. Be they a person trapped in the bureaucratic nightmare known as 'welfare', or those cashing in on the government's 'corporate welfare' trough. WHat Ron Paul's entire philosophy boils down to is common sense: everyone has the right to be left alone by others, so long as they don't encroach on others' rights; the government should take care of it's responsibilities outlined in the Constitution, and not overreach- even if it's for a supposedly 'good cause'.

That's a simplification, but it is a manifesto compared to the simplified and inaccurate comic-book portrayal of Dr. Paul in most 'mainstream' media. He says what he believes, acts on his beliefs and never backs down on principle for the sake of 'politics' or expediency'. THe guy walks the walk, talks the talk, and probably has written more books on economics thatn all the other candidates put together have even READ.

Dismiss ROn Paul and his supporters at your own peril. We are educated, savvy mainstream Americans from all ends of the political spectrum.And we are tired of candidates who are packaged like a new brand of prescription medicine. We want a REAL American in 2012- not just someone playing one on TV.

You will have a hard time making the argument that Paul drifts to the right to pick up votes. I see that the argument was not made in the article but insinuated in the headline. Paul has been speaking the same message since day one. Ron Paul is the only candidate that will draw plenty of votes from the Republican, Democrat and Independent sector. Liberty and truth are popular no matter who you are.

Ron Paul does not move anywhere to win votes. He is the most principled and consistent politician in Capitol Hill.

Ron Paul stands for small government, individual liberty and sound money.
He is the only candidate who understand monetary economics.

End the Fed. Ron Paul 2012.

? You say Paul drifted to the right?

Funny, you don't mention him in the article - just in the headline.

Anyway, there is no drifting in Paul's positions... he has always been spot-on... I think the other candidates are just reacting to political winds.

If you are black and want some justice (because, it is at least portrayed, that blacks are disproportionately jailed for drug crimes) - please consider Ron's stance on the drug issue (which is to get the feds out of policing drugs). How many times have I watched 'Cops' (tv show) - to see perfectly decent human beings (black and white) romped upon because they had drugs?? It is insanity. The prohibition creates the criminals - drug users are not inherently bad people.
