I truly believe people should love who they love, but as I clearly articulated in the article, a black man’s choice to be with non black women does not mean that he has to degrade black women such as Handsomeblackcow(boy)did in his post. I researched Haynesworth not to stereotype, but to show how stupid he was to make a statement about his dislike for a race of women which includes his mother, who was a key figure in raising him to be an outstanding athletic.

Black women like women of all races come in all shapes and sizes. In fact, black women are so unique they come in 31 flavors, so why in the world would anyone just want vanilla?

I notice that the articles under “sista talk” are remarkably different from those under the men’s/general section. The men’s section seemed intriguing and varied, while the women’s section is chockfull of “they hate us” stories.

Claiming you want us to love ourselves, while simultaneously beating us over the head with the latest “they hate us” stories is not only hypocritical, it’s contemptible.

How wrong and insensitive you are. In fact, it is as though you are offended by her “opinion” that she is entitled to. I am one of those black women who agrees with the writer, and I don’t know that for every small black woman like myself that I see an overweight, unattractive one. Now let’s get to a bit of education and exposure and you will discover that in many African cultures, weight is a GOOD thing on a woman. Let’s go back in time where burlesque (thick, fat, heavy, whatever you want to call it) was considered BEAUTIFUL even in European cultures. Many of the stick thin models in my opinion look like MEN in dresses – a push towards unfeminity in beauty. Now, everyone is entitled to their preference, and I understand your perspective. I have turned the heads of many black men who were with white women – as an attractive black woman. But who cares? I also turn the heads of non black men. And I don’t look anything near white. On another note, I ask myself, like Chris Rock, why is that when a black man gets with a white woman – she herself is fat, overweight, unattractive even to her white man? I’d like to see someone take a poll on the number of “handsome black men” who actually pull “attractive white women” who also have something going for themselves. But that would probably be another outrage to brothers like yourself. The only unfortunate thing for Mr. Haynesworth is that his mother taught him how to be a great black man, but didn’t teach him to love and respect black women (including herself).
