I sat with people who I didn’t know very well and realised that we were all ‘listening’ so carefully to each other and speaking so carefully in response to some pretty timid and not very personal questions. I realised that they were as aware as I was, that we were taking the ‘measure’ of each other by what we chose to say. Then I realised, language is famed as the great ‘communication’ tool, when really, it’s used to segregate, separate, judge and decide how we will feel about other people.

Your article above, encapsulated the idea I was forming 2 nights ago. Thank you for posting this and clarifying it for me. PS… I am so aware that whatever I say in this world can and WILL be held for or against me!!!
