I don’t have any political say in Bridgeport but I do on the National Level as does everybody else. This is not a “black” thing. You are not the only people who are homeless or on the brink of disaster. This is a national issue happening nation wide and all low income/no income citizens are the targets of this discrimination. This is what happens when you put double digit IQ’s in charge by appointment or by election. We, here in Florida, have the same issues. That’s why the push for vouchered education, to circumvent the double-digit IQ’s. The leadership of that district needs fired as does the leadership of that community and the prosecutor. They are not examples of what America needs to be or where we need to be going. This is one of the reasons that our education system is coming in second place to a half-dozen nations that we used to poke fun at.

I am literally crying. As a mother who wants the best for her child, I completely sympathize with these women who have been arrested. All they want is to see their children get good educations. The government should invest more money in fixing our crumbling school system that fails to give economically disadvantaged students a fighting chance at a good education and less money on arresting homeless women who love their children. This is absolutely shameful!

What address was she supposed to use?…….SHE’S DAMMIT HOMELESS!!!……They didn’t bother to offer any alternatives to this woman to keep her child in school……Where is the social services intervention to help this woman and her child…….Then they evict the babysitter for using her address to keep the 6 yr. old baby in school…….
THEY JUST DON’T GIVE A DAMN!!!……..the person from the public housing office that approved the eviction of the babysitter, needs her/his head to roll as well as the one who approved the REMOVAL OF THIS BABY from the school……..THESE PEOPLE ARE EVIL TO THE VERY CORE OF THEIR BEING!!!…….They did absolutely nothing but made an already devastating situation WORSE.

These stories are just so sad and ridiculous.

I was raised in Berkeley, CA and my family lied about my actual residence (gave an Aunt’s address) to keep us in Berkeley schools. My parents were divorced and we switched from living with Mom to living with Dad and we did not want to change schools also.

We people are in flux they do what they must to survive and thrive. How much money is being spent on court and jail costs to prosecute this woman??? We could have paid for permanent, lovely housing and a full college education for this industrious family!

You’re kidding, right? Do we live in the USA or Afghanistan? It’s a sad day when one is only trying to send a child on the right road, and they’re jailed. Makes one wonder if Democracy is a misnomer in the good ole USA.
