If school employees hit children with wooden boards in public rather than within the walls of a taxpayer funded school building they would be arrested and imprisoned for criminal felony assault as would any other person, be they a Police Officer, Lawmaker or U.S. Supreme Court Justice!

I have never spanked either of my children and both of them are on the honor roll and very respectable my son is 14 years old in the 8th grade and my daughter is 10 in the 4th grade yes of course they can sometimes be a handful but never to the point have I felt they deserved a whipping

By writing this article your NOT helping the matter much. Why? The biblical quote is”spare the rod, spoil the child.” Spare is a verb. 1. To refrain from treating harshly; treat mercifully or leniently. 2. To refrain from harming or destroying etc…
The rod of correction can take on many forms. Yet, today, those that did not heed it are abused and the abusive. My point here is to say, that people should stated beating a child with a precondition to reject authority including their own parents is moot. There is different dispensation on the children born out of drug use and alcohol abuse. There is a nature innate personality that is prevelant very early in the child’s nature developmental stages that is ignore by the parents and seen as normal behavoral stage. When in fact it is not the case. Children natural want to defy authority, however, the rod of correction should be love and respect, but there is a line of respect that a child should never be comfortable crossing, yet, today, we see children crossing the respect line daily in normal social settings without regard to social consequences that are life altering forever.
