Man, it never fails to amaze me how whites want more and more privelege over us blacks. It seems that we have glass walls and glass ceilings all around our beautiful and intelligent. Our people are our family. What we say to them is in the spirit of black love, which, in itself, is beautiful, bro. I am proud of my blackness, every inch of it, and would hope that someday our race is accorded the true equality it deserves, man.

Being a biracial, e.g. Italian and Black man, I lean pretty strongly in the direction of black culture. This confuses many of the caucasian friends that I have; but I feel a bit more comfortable with my black brothers and sisters. I have a doctorate, and postdoctorate, so the whites can’t look down on me intellectually. I feel, however, as you implied, that they expect us to aspire to be like them. Why can’t we aspire to be the beautiful black people we are, with a rich, soulful culture, and the capability to rise to the highest level in our fields of choice. Gook joy, my brotha.

Because there obviously are many many races or people all over the world, I mean, it’s no coincidence that light skinned people give birth to light skinned people and dark skinned people give birth to dark skinned people. Of course it’s much more complex that skin tone, every distinct human population shares a distinct set of genetics. Are you proposing humans should, voluntarily of course, systematically mix and intermarry until there is literally no distinct racial characteristics associated with any population? Or do you honestly dismiss and disregard the genetic make-up and identity of your fellow human peoples as nothing more than skin tone?

There is no race. There is just light-skinned people and dark-skinned people. We have to confront this dragon head on if we’re ever going to slay it. This is my motivation and my personal philosophy.

Is that as offensive as nigger or is it just a corruption of the word negro? Can I say nigra, even though I’m white? Nigra has an old timey feel that just sounds better than the urban sounding “nigga”. I can’t really pull off saying nigga because I’m white, so nigra seems more appropriate. For instance, when I show up at a dinner party or a meeting I’d like to say something with as much impact and style as “waddup nigga”, but i’m white so it can’t sound too black. So, I would say “howdy nigra” to my white friends instead. Thoughts?
