McWhorter is way off base when he suggests that prohibition is the “saboteur” of black families. There are more than enough single family households where the father has never spent a day in jail in his life and isn’t “in the game”. That is almost laughable. Additionally, can anyone truly say that America would be a better place if drugs were cheaper and more freely available, what with the proliferation of guns that exists in this country? He must have taken a long drag before he said this crap.

Black America would be better if we reset, or what I should say is re-establish, a moral compass that makes it incomprehensible for women to have children with men who have zero chance of being any kind of father to their children. Black America would be better if we demanded better education in our communities rather that settle for lame excuses of funding when schools in the county looks like they are doing just fine. Black America would be better if we stopped glamorizing “thug life”, which virtually every young impressionable person aspires to the “bling”!!! Drugs, alcohol, guns….they are all freely available in the black community now, does McWhorter see that as a better Black America???

There are so many saboteurs of black families, to single out law enforcement directed at criminal behavior as the main one is ludicrous.
