On a whole your article is well intended. But lets start from the beginning. By the time a Diabetic has to have limbs amputated or experience lack of mobility they have known about their situation for a very long time. Nobody needs a foot amputated with it turning neuropathy and turning colors which take time. We need to have people realize they are diabetic and start doing changing their food choices and exercise more often before all the bad stuff starts.

Even with all the certified trainers here in Los Angeles,California, there are very few that are familiar with training a diabetic person. I had to tell the trainer how to care for me if I should have low blood sugar. You will not loose a pound if you keep high blood sugar weekly. Certified Trainers do not know this.

Most diabetics need help in the beginning of their diagnosis with therapy and family support.
