]]> By: Pelvo White, Jr. https://thyblackman.com/2011/02/19/psycho-slavery-black-boys-white-female-teachers-the-rise-of-a-d-h-d/comment-page-1/#comment-279168 Sun, 05 Aug 2018 20:53:49 +0000 http://thyblackman.com/?p=2656#comment-279168 I graduated segregated grade and high schools years ago and I made it a point to observe the treatment of black boys and girls by both white male and female teacher in Florida at the grad,high, and university levels of schools when schools were forced by government to integrate and this is what I found: ( 1 ) The forced integration of schools was resisted by both white males and female teachers; ( 2 ) Resistance to integration was both psychiatric and psychological; ( 3 ) Most of these white teachers withheld emotional and psychiatric support of black children both verbally and non-verbally doing untold psychiatric damage to these children;( 4 ) Black children could not rely on white teachers to treat them with care and concern; ( 5 ) The psychiatric and psychological labeling of black males was firmly in the hands of white teachers who came from years of deliberate discriminating against developing black males; ( 6 ) Given the history discrimination of American psychiatry and psychology and a tendency of white teachers to reinforce these discriminatory practices,diagnoses and prognoses for so-called mental illnesses like A.D.H.D and others are to be looked upon by African Americans with the greatest of suspicion; ( 7 ) American psychiatry is not to be trusted; Don’t trust their diagnosis or their prognosis utilizing psychotropic drugs; ( 8 ) Question the science of psychiatry and psychology which lays the foundations for all labeling of our black children by contemporary psychiatry and white teachers.
