(ThyBlackMan.com) There’s no denying that employees love job perks. There’s evidence to suggest that they actually prefer them to their regular paychecks – at least to some degree.

For that reason, the race is on for employers to discover the perks that make the most significant difference to the lives of their colleagues. The better the offer, the higher the retention rate, and the easier it is to recruit talent.

Here are some of the job perks that will make your employees love you forever.

Paid Parental Leave

The people who work at your firm aren’t just mindless robots, repetitively doing tasks all day long. They’re real human beings with family ambitions.

For that reason, paid parental leave comes pretty much top of the list of desirable job perks. Workers want to be able to take time off to raise their kids without living off ramen.

Site To Site Transport

A lot of companies need to provide site to site transport for their staff. A construction company, for instance, might need to take workers from the office to a new office building that it is putting up.

Companies that don’t provide this service have to rely on colleagues making their own way. Not only is this annoying, but it also wrecks efficiency. People show up at different times. It’s a mess.

Companies like Flex Fleet Rental say that the best solution is to hire coaches and vans. That way, you can pile everyone into a vehicle and have them arrive at the new site at the same time, ready for work.

Show Your Employees You Care By Providing Experiences

What’s more important than money? Most people will say, love. Or perhaps God. But it turns out that experiences are also high on the list of employee priorities. And, what’s more, most of them don’t realize how much they like to experience new things until they go and do it.

Think about all of the experiences that you could provide your employees to say “thank you” for all their hard work. Examples include:

  • Barista coffee training
  • Sky diving
  • Wine tasting
  • A fishing trip
  • Sailboating
  • Sightseeing trips

… You get the picture!

Enroll Them On A Wellness Program

Most people sort of know how to keep themselves healthy. Just do a bit of exercise and eat plenty of veggies. But a helping hand is always welcome. The majority of your staff need a nudge in the right direction – especially those who are fond of the cake trolley.

Wellness programs are holistic activities that attempt to give your people skills and tools to feel better. It could be something as simple as a yoga class or as complicated as biometric testing. Whatever route you choose, find a strategy that has a real impact on how people feel. Say “no” to gimmicks.

Give Them Healthcare Insurance

Finally, give your employees healthcare insurance. Nobody wants to face thousand-dollar bills every time they need to take one of the kids to the ER. Save money by getting a group policy and do the right thing by your workers.
