(ThyBlackMan.com) The upcoming first-person shooter Overkills’s The Walking Dead is coming this year on PC and next year on consoles. The developer Overkill Software has released some videos during the recent game industry events. We have prepared a list of all the information they have revealed about The Walking Dead game so far.

  1. Each character has a class

There are four main characters in Overkill’s The Walking Dead game and each of them has a class. Citing the example of Grant, the old guy from Washington D.C., Almir Listo, Global Brand Director for Starbreeze Studios and producer at Overkill Software, said these characters will have their own character class.

Grant is the tactician and uses a sniper rifle, his signature weapon type, but none of the weapons is limited to a specific character class type as all the characters can use all the weapons. Another character is Maya who plays the role of a surgeon, is also from Washington D.C. and is one of the four survivors.

  1. More than 45 weapons to choose from

The game features more than 45 types of weapons and all of them will be available to all the characters as they progress. Heather, one of the four protagonists uses stealth as her primary way of fighting. Weapons in Overkill’s The Walking Dead include a crossbow, suppressed firearm, smoke grenades, flashbang grenades, shotgun, baseball bat, machete, and sniper rifles. There are many other weapons in the game, but these are the ones we have seen so far.

  1. A Horde Meter

It’s a new game feature that offers a visual representation of the noise a player is making. The more noise you make, the walkers will be able to hear it and they will follow the sound. The interesting thing about the game is that even if your teammates are making noise, the walkers will chase them. This new horde meter will help players stay safe and move strategically.

  1. There are AI humans

There are two types of enemy factions you’re going to face in Overkill’s The Walking Dead. The first type of enemy is the walkers who are coming to kill you, and then there’s one more type of enemy, the humans. The latter have different agendas so players will have to be careful about what these humans are planning to do next.

  1. Post-release content

The game developer Overkill Software has confirmed that they will be releasing content for the game after its release. It’s too early to say that a sequel will come out, but Listo has promised that the developers won’t just stop here as they consider Overkill’s The Walking Dead a beginning and there will be more content coming in the future.

  1. Nintendo Switch release

The release of Overkill The Walking Dead on Nintendo Switch still remains unconfirmed. According to the developer, they are focusing on the PC and console release of the game. There’s no confirmation on whether we will see the game on Switch or it will be limited to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

  1. Overkill The Walking Dead Release date

The game will be released on PC first. For this release, Overkill Software has set the date and the game will be out for PC on November 6. For the Xbox One and PS4, the game will be released in February 2019. Fans can pre-order the game from the official stores.

  1. Closed Beta

Developers will be hosting a closed beta for Overkill’s The Walking Dead from October 9. Entry to this beta session will be exclusive to those who pre-order the game. If you have pre-ordered the standard edition, you will get a single key, but with the deluxe edition, you get four keys which you can share with friends.

  1. No microtransactions

One of the best things about the game is it will be free from microtransactions. There will be no microtransactions in Overkill’s The Walking Dead, and it’s safe to say that there will be no price tag on cosmetics. The developer will most likely charge for the post-launch content and maps.
