(ThyBlackMan.com) Google Pixel Watch rumors should be put to rest because the company has made it very clear that no such smartwatch is coming this year. Google’s Wear OS team has said this in an interview and confirmed that it is focusing “heavily” on the Pixel phones and discovering the possibilities of Google Assistance integration with new AI and machine learning capabilities.

It doesn’t mean that Google Pixel Watch will never come because Google’s director of engineering for Wear OS, Miles Barr hinted at what the Google Pixel Watch could be if the company ever considers releasing one.

  1. Google Pixel Watch won’t be everything for everyone

There’s nothing called a “perfect smartwatch” because the industry is serving to fulfill the needs of different types of consumers. Some people want fitness-focused features, while some pay more attention to design aspects. Some are interested more in taking a break from their smartphone, and some people want everything in one place.

  1. AI will be the future

Google knows that more people, in the long run, will start accepting the power of artificial intelligence. The company’s own Google Assistant is one of the leading voice-controlled virtual assistants among the rivals from Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple. If Google Pixel Watch arrives, it will be focused more on AI and machine learning.

  1. Google is actively learning from Wear OS users

Google is improving its Wear OS by rolling out regular updates. The latest Wear OS update helps users get quick access to the information they are looking for and it also proactively helps them find the most important information. Depending on how a Wear OS user uses the Google Assistant, Google collects this information to improve its other services.

  1. Google Pixel Watch will be fitness focused

Google has been paying more attention to fitness features. In one of the latest Wear OS updates, the company introduced workout rings that you can easily check without many efforts. This feature helps users see their activities at once. Automatic workout-tracking is also a major improvement both Apple and Google have introduced into their smartwatch software. Google also lets you measure your workout and fitness in more meaningful ways rather than pushing you to set an 8000 or 10,000 steps goals.

  1. Qualcomm is working hard on a new chip

This fall, Qualcomm will unveil a new chipset for wearables, a successor to one of the most powerful wearable platforms Snapdragon Wear 2100. Earlier when no official comments were there about the Google Pixel Watch release, many tech bloggers believed that Google’s own smartwatch will use the new chip. Now it looks like Google will wait at least for a year and the company will consider Snapdragon Wear 2100’s successor for the Pixel Watch.

  1. Google Pixel Watch may solve battery issues

Adding more battery life to Wear OS devices is one of the major challenges, and Google will most likely introduce its own watch only after solving the battery issues. Google is planning to release an update in early 2019. This update will be focused on improving the battery life of the smartwatches that run on Wear OS.

  1. Google will release regular Wear OS updates

Yearly updates have led Google into problems so the company wants to stay away from the update version numbers and will focus more on releasing regular updates. According to Barr, yearly updates are like a trap and you have to wait for a long time to release software updates. Now the company is focusing on releasing regular updates so that the users will not have to wait till a fixed date to receive new features and fixes.

  1. Google Pixel Watch Specifications

We are still away from a Google Pixel Watch announcement,, but we do believe that the smartwatch from Google will ship with top-notch hardware components. Some reports have claimed that Google is working on three variants of the smartwatch, each one will reportedly feature minimum 1GB of RAM.

  1. Price

In the last few years, Google has developed some of the best and probably some of the worst consumer hardware products. Google Glass didn’t work as expected but the Pixel phones and smart speakers are great. If the Google Pixel Watch comes in 2019, we expect that the smartwatch will be available at a price around $300-$400.

  1. Google Pixel Watch may promote the ‘digital well-being’ trend

Wear OS is getting new and better apps. The company has already announced its plans to make a high-quality ecosystem for Wear OS products. With steps like ‘app review’ in August 2018, Google is asking app developers to share at least one screenshot of their app’s appearance on Wear OS. That way, Google is encouraging developers to make sure that their applications appear in a proper layout on different Wear OS devices. With more new features, it looks like Google will support the digital-well being trend with Wear OS as well.
