(ThyBlackMan.com) Having Pokémon games on Nintendo Switch isn’t a new thing anymore. The Pokémon Company has already released Pokémon Quest on Switch. Recently, the studio confirmed a new Pokémon RPG game for the console. The new title will come out in the second half of 2019. It looks like this is going to be the beginning of a new era of the Pokémon games on Switch. For this year, the Pokémon Company has two more Pokémon Games for the Nintendo Switch – Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee.

To those waiting for the new Pokémon RPG game on Switch, the studio has promised a completely new gameplay experience. We don’t see any other Pokémon game on Switch that utilizes full processing power and hardware potential of the console. Even the two games with a 2018 release window don’t seem to be using every bit of the console’s powerful hardware. The two games will feature very basic controls using only one Joy-Con.
Details on the upcoming Pokémon RPG game are scarce, but some new information has emerged from a popular Japanese magazine’s latest issue. In an interview with the magazine Famitsu, the Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara revealed that the upcoming game will bring new Pokémon and it will be an entirely new product. He confirmed that the Pokémon RPG game everyone is waiting for will not be a remake of any old game from the franchise.
Pokémon Switch RPG will have “a good understanding of what an evolved Pokémon game looks like,” said Ishihara. The new game will justify its presence with new gameplay element and new Pokémon. It will be an example of how a game should be after continuing the traditions set by Game Freak, he added.
The company aims to release the game on Nintendo Switch in the second half of 2019. And it clearly means that this is going to be a new era for the Pokémon video game franchise. A new generation of Pokémon is coming. For this year’s Pokémon games, the studio has shared some details. Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee features
Release Date: Both the Pokémon: Let’s Go games will bring core role-playing game features. It means these two games will also be played in the same way as other Pokémon RPGs like Red and Blue, Sun and Moon, or Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. The two new games Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee are coming on November 16, 2018. These games will be exclusively available on Nintendo Switch.
Controls: The Pokémon Company has revealed some details about the features of the new Pokémon Let’s Go games. The first and most important thing you should know is that these two games will support two-player co-op. Pokémon Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee will use only one Joy-Con. The way you catch Pokémon in Pokémon Go, you will see Pokémon physically appearing in these two games as well. Using the Joy-Con or the Poke-Ball Plus, you can catch Pokémon by tapping them.
Starter Pokémon: In some Pokémon games, you get the options to begin the game with a Pokémon of your choice. Usually, you get three options to choose from. But this is not the case with Let’s Go Pikachu and Eevee games. You will get these two Pokémon as starters.
Putting Pokémon in Box: In these two games, the box will be in your bag. Players can put their partner Pokémon in the box. The box system is totally different from what we saw in the previously released games. The box will be in the bag and partner Pokémon will use one of the six slots.
Trading: Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee will feature trading of Pokémon. It means you can trade Pokémon between Pokémon Let’s Go games. More details about trading in the upcoming Let’s Go games is not available as of this writing. But, we have got confirmation on some more features including the availability of Pokémon. The company confirmed the first 150 Pokémon coming to the game and there will be some more Pokémon coming from other Pokémon games. Like always, the company will add some different Pokémon in the new games.
We’re still several months away from the release of Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee. If these two games turn out to be a massive hit, especially with the new Pokémon Go like catching style, we can expect the same to happen in the 2019’s Pokémon Switch RPG. Considering how successful the new platform (Switch) has been, the Pokémon Company and Game Freak won’t miss any opportunity that keeps their games alive.
