(ThyBlackMan.com) From the back side, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, the smartphone looks like someone has just removed the Apple logo from the iPhone X and added a fingerprint sensor. From the front, it looks identical to the Mi Mix 2. The same 5.99-inch display with trim bezels and a 5MP front-facing camera tucked in the bottom right corner.

The phone doesn’t have a notch at the top and it also comes in the same white and silver colors. If you’re thinking what Xiaomi has done this time, here are 7 interesting facts about the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S.

1. Mi Mix 2S is better than the iPhone X, Xiaomi Believes

The Chinese smartphone maker claims that its phone is a lot better than Apple’s iPhone X. When asked about their claims, Xiaomi said everyone is saying the iPhone X is the best phone, but with the Mi Mix 2S, Xiaomi has“surpassed the best” that too at almost half of the price of Apple’s flagship. Price of the Mi Mix 2S is 3299 yuan which is close to $527.

2. Mi Mix 2S features the fastest smartphone processor

The Mix 2S runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 is the latest and the most powerful smartphone processor. It’s the same processor that powers the Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus. The Mix 2 and Mix 2S may look identical but Xiaomi is using the latest chipset for its new smartphone while the Mix 2 runs on the Snapdragon 835.

3. Mi Mix 2S supports Qi wireless charging

Under its ceramic panel, Xiaomi has added a wireless charging coil that allows users to charge their phone wirelessly. Xiaomi’s Mi Mix 2S will be paired with a charging pad (sold separately) and users will be able to enjoy wireless charging for their smartphone.

This is the first time Xiaomi has added wireless charging support for its smartphone. If you don’t wish to buy a Qi wireless charging pad, the smartphone also supports QuickCharge 3 through the USB-C.

4. There are dual cameras on the back

The back of the Mi Mix 2S is the place where the difference between the Mix 2 and Mix 2S can be seen. The Mi Mix 2s sports a dual camera setup with two 12MP sensors. One is a regular f/1.8 wide lens and another is a f/2.4 telephoto lens. The cameras also support dual-pixel autofocus and 4-axis OIS.

Despite the software being in its early stage, images captured with the Mix Mix 2S look really good. Noise reduction and final finishing work quite well. In low light and natural light settings, the device’s cameras work perfectly and we can expect more improvements on this part as Xiaomi and Google will be releasing new updates for MIUI and Oreo.

5. There’s still no water resistance

It’s really very surprising that Xiaomi has not given water resistance capability to the Mix 2S. One side the company says its new phone is a lot better than the iPhone X, while on the other hand, the new phone doesn’t even have the basic water resistance capability which is now available in many Android flagship phones.

6. There’s no headphone jack

Just like the Mi Mix 2, the headphone jack is missing on the Mi Mix 2S. That also surprises a bit because the company doesn’t sell wireless headphones in some major markets where its smartphones are in demand. This compromise also didn’t pave the way for a water-resistant smartphone.

7. Powered by the same battery as the Mix 2

The Mi Mix 2S runs on either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and comes equipped with the Snapdragon 845 processor. The company didn’t make any changes in the battery of the new phone and despite having different processors on board, the Mi Mix 2 and Mix 2S have the same 3400mAh battery. According to Xiaomi, the new phone performs better but it successfully manages to maintain the same battery life.

This seems like a “GO” – quoting Flossy Carter.
Still I just don’t see Apple fanboys trading in their iphones.
