(ThyBlackMan.com) With the Fitbit Ace fitness band on your child’s wrist, you can check their day and night activities. The wearables manufacturer has introduced a smart fitness tracker for kids of age 8 years and above. It’s a basic $99.95 fitness tracker that tracks your kid’s steps and active minutes. Available in two colors Power Purple and Electric Blue, Fitbit Ace features some interesting, motivational and kid-friendly watch faces and badges.

Kids love wearing digital watches and now Fitbit has taken the whole idea to a new level by introducing Fitbit Ace. The fitness tracker enables parents to keep track of their child’s activities and sleep cycles. Parents can set up a Fitbit family account and add their child’s account to it to check stats on the Fitbit app. Kids can also check their account with a limited control. Kids can view their activity stats, sleep data, badges and can change watch faces from their side, while parents can add accounts and view progress.

The Fitbit Ace supports both Android and iOS app versions so you can connect the band with any of your compatible smartphones or tablets. Kids can also set up fun step challenges and earn rewards and badges that appear in the form of fun celebration messages. The device is designed to motivate kids to get involved in at least 60 minutes of activities daily, although the reminders for activities can be set to make sure that kids easily reach the desired activity level.

The Fitbit Ace is designed to keep parents informed about their kid’s activities and they can also monitor the contacts their kids are adding and sharing their rewards and badges with. According to Fitbit, the Ace account won’t allow kids to access or join any social components through the device. The app allows people to share photos and activity summary, but this facility won’t be available on Ace accounts for safety and privacy purposes. There are 10 watch faces kids can use and they won’t be having access to other watch faces which are available on the other Fitbit wearables.

The smart fitness tracker gives up to 5 days of battery life after a full charge and the device is spill and splash proof with the IPX7 rating. The fitness tracker has a 3-axis accelerometer to track activities and it also comes equipped with a vibration motor used for gentle reminders.

To control the fitness tracker, Fitbit has given an OLED display to the Ace. The band supports tap (touch) gestures. The Fitbit Ace is capable to store activity data for 7 days with minute-to-minute details and it also stores daily totals for 30 days.

The device looks beautiful on the wrist and comes with an adjustable strap. The wristband is made of an elastomer material used in almost all sports watches and its clasp and tracker are made of stainless steel. The Fitbit Ace uses Bluetooth connectivity for synchronization of data with Apple (iOS) and Android devices. The connectivity for sync can work from as far as 30 feet. The app also allows kids to exchange messages with the members available in the family accounts. Sharing of messages is limited to the parent account and cannot be used to connect with strangers or anyone who is out of the family account.

Parents can set a bedtime reminder for kids and the device also supports morning alarm which can be set on the mobile app. Once after the kid wakes up, the sleep data can be viewed on both parent and child account to see when the kid fell asleep, when the kid was restless during the bedtime and at what time they woke up. Fitbit also offers interchangeable wristbands which you can buy separately. The Fitbit Ace is available for pre-order now and shipping will start in late May this year.
