Four Things to Say to Yourself Every Morning.

(ThyBlackMan.com) Each morning we awaken to a new day with all of its golden possibilities for our advancement. It’s easy to forget this, especially if we are surrounded by negative-thinking people day in and day out. How do we go about our day knowing that we are more than conquerors and knowing that we can do all things with a sense of purpose? We talk to ourselves! Literally say to yourself the following each day you awaken from your slumber.

I Am Powerful Beyond Measure

One of my favorite quotes was uttered by H. Jackson Brown, Jr.: Never give up on what you really want to do. The person with big dreams is more powerful than the one with all the facts. Rarely have words been so true!

What the facts say is nothing compared to the power of the dream. The facts say you will never get that beloved family; the dream says it’s yours. The facts say you will never lose the weight; the burning inside would disagree. The facts say you don’t have what it takes to get into that dream house; the power inside says ‘It’s already done’!

The greatest feeling in the world is to feel so powerful that you feel you can move heaven and earth and pave a path to your dreams. Because you can!

I Matter

I cannot think of two more powerful words that form the basis of self-acceptance than ‘I matter’. Why are these two words so important and why do they carry so much weight? Because you very well do matter. Shame on you if you believe otherwise! Take a page from the wise words of Anthony J. D’Angelo: Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine. See the Son shining in you and your sun will shine brilliantly.

Yes! You are the sunshine; you are radiant and all you must do is let your light shine!

My Work is Important

Not only do you matter, but what you do is important. In the most menial of tasks there is a nugget of value that you share with the world. Most people think that they have nothing to offer the world, that they cannot make a difference from their particular station in life. Most of this flawed thinking is the result of a culture that makes the spotlight the only light, and salivates the appetite with fifteen minutes of fame.

Ever wonder why knowing your work is important? It’s because every day we come into touch with a human being that we may inspire by simply believing in what we do. The former First Lady Michelle Obama put it succinctly when she said recently, We learned about gratitude and humility – that so many people had a hand in our success, from the teachers who inspired us to the janitors who kept our school clean.

So do what it is you do with enthusiasm, with diligence and with class – because what you do is important!

I Am Blessed and Highly Favored

How does one beat off the pestering attacks of self-doubt? How do we ward off the nay-sayers, including the one that resides inside of each one of us? By waking up each morning and declaring these six words: I am blessed and highly favored!

Don’t only say it – believe it! Accept it into your subconscious each night with repetition and watch how your morning greets you with endless possibilities. The fact is you are blessed and highly favored and if you’d take the time to conduct a quick inventory, you’d convince yourself of this: You are alive. You have dreams. You have the wherewithal to accomplish said dreams. You live in the freest country on the planet to accomplish your dreams, inequities notwithstanding. The list goes on and on! Today, know that you are blessed and highly favored!
