(ThyBlackMan.com) Many of us know, and understand that health is Important, and the maintaining of such require work. If we are to build strong community strong bodies, and minds are necessary. Eating healthy, and exercising, must become a lifestyle for our people and not merely a seasonal push. Life choices require sacrifice, and we lose too many brothers and sisters to preventable disease. Some of the issue is access, but more so the problem is fully committing to a healthy life. Making healthy choices doesn’t have to render us a life time of having to partake of nasty food. Exercising doesn’t mean one must be married to the gym. But, as a people we must embrace the need to change as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart trouble are just a few of the health problems we face as a community.

It is not possible to wish ones way into better health, nor is ignoring ones health going to fix matters. Too many of us feel the aches and pains in our body, and we know changes must be made but we continue with bad habits. Let’s be honest we are committed to sticking with what we came up eating even if it threatens to kill us.

Yes, eating healthy can be costly, but it won’t break the bank. The money we spend towards fast food could be used to make a healthy meal. Baptizing every thing in butter, and gravy is a one way ticket to clogged arteries, and type 2 diabetes. Choosing wheat verses white bread, drinking more water, eating more fresh vegetables, and choosing healthy snacks is a good start. There must be a conscious effort made to learn about healthy eating, and pass it on to the children.

A body that doesn’t move is prone to injury.” Too many bodies are on a yo-yo. Meaning, when there is an event or we know summer is coming there is a rush to exercise. When the need to bust a few pounds come we commit to that goal, but too often we don’t maintain what we worked for. Some people are continually on a cycle of losing weight, and gaining it back.

The body requires consistently, and it’s the to get off the cycle. When there is no gym membership there is outside. The goal is to get our body moving on a regular basis. This is not just good for circulation, but also the muscles and joints. When we aren’t moving, nor sweating, it can become very easy to retain fluid which puts pressure on the organs. Being diligence in exercise will also allows a regular outlet for stress. Decide to get moving, and stay moving.

There are many reasons one can give for living a healthy life, but life itself should be the purpose. As long as you have health you can continue to strive no matter the obstacles, however when your body gives out there is nothing that can be done. Make a healthy diet, and regular exercise apart of your daily routine. So it for you, and your family.
