(ThyBlackMan.com) Splatoon 2 on Nintendo is the latest entry from Nintendo EPD. The game brings literally everything from the original game but revolutionizes the way we see its Wii U based predecessor. The depth of plot and several options to help the new players get familiar with the franchise, earned the game positive reviews. With a promise about future updates, it seems that both the Nintendo Switch and Splatoon 2 are perfect for each other.

As a successor of the original game Splatoon, the new entry doesn’t feel very original and unique, but the arrival of the game on a new console, that too with the highly improved control system and hours of gameplay, make it a good game to spend time and money on.

The game doesn’t remind us of the flaws of the original game even when it brings a lot of fresh content to play. The new game modes and a single player campaign are enough to keep players busy for hours. The online multiplayer system works perfectly and the mobile application will also remain a good companion as long as the hype remains.

Splatoon 2 Gameplay & Features

A fresh wave of content comes with the game as expected. You get new weapons, gears, and some of the classic in-game elements mixed with the new possibilities. There are some special weapons in the game which are completely new and will surely add more fun to your game.

There’s Turf War where you take up the warrior’s role in a multiplayer mode in a 4-on-4 battle. Salmon Run is another opportunity where up to 4 players can join each other and fight against enemy Salmonids. Many players are familiar with the original game’s mechanics and the developers have adopted the same in the new game as well, but the new maps alone make the game worth playing.

The new game allows LAN connectivity and up to 10 players can join the multiplayer match. A total of 8 players can actually play the game while 2 players can play the spectator’s role. Players can create local private battles without needing an internet connection. The game supports both wired and wireless gameplay.

There’s a lot to customize in the game. Players can change the Inkling’s style in the way they like. Different weapons, clothes, gears, and shoes are available to choose from the wide ranging options. The different gears help players get boosts in the game.

Should you be hyped?

In simple words, Splatoon 2 is a good sequel but it is the same as its predecessor. Apart from the fact that the game runs on a new platform, there’s no big change in the new game. If you have played the original game, you will realize that the developers have made small, but positive changes in different areas. The best thing is that Nintendo promises to deliver more updates in future, meaning that the game will continue to grow as long as Nintendo keeps supporting it. The game actually proves that giving players the same things again and again without making significant changes in the core elements is a good idea.

If you are expecting any surprising features from the game, there are chances that you will be disappointed. If you love playing the same game with new maps and fresh content like weapons, gears, and boosts, you’ll love it. The new levels in Hero mode and different battles make it a complete game. You may not like the complex voice chat system and also the lack of split screen multiplayer.

If you are a Switch owner and are tired of playing Zelda, Splatoon 2 is the game you should try. After Zelda, this is the game which is really capable of convincing people to buy Nintendo Switch.
