Three Reasons you are Too Blessed to be Stressed.

(ThyBlackMan.com)  Stress is a daily reality. From work to home to friends we each experience degrees of stress. Some stress is needful; it adds to our ability to adapt. Other forms of stress are toxic and can lead to physical and emotional issues, if we do not handle it properly. I coach people to have some form of outlet for handling stress, whether it’s gardening, exercise or long walks in the park.

I also coach perspective and one of the best ways to handle stress is to change our perspective, to see things differently. When we begin to see ourselves holistically – and not compartmentally – we will begin to know and understand that we are in possession of a natural ‘stress-busting’ ability.

This ‘perspective’ will allow us to grasp the fact that we are blessed and highly favored!

Once we begin to embrace this concept, we will see that the reasons we are too blessed to be stressed are because we are powerful, resourceful and faithful.

Reason#One

You are Powerful not pitiful:

It’s one thing to know pity, but quite another to know power. Most people experience opposition and wither at the root. A blessed person, though, rests in his or her power. They understand what Pastor Joel O’Steen of the Lakewood Church in Houston said: You can be pitiful or powerful – but you cannot be both. Don’t be pitiful – be blessed and be powerful! When you are connected to a power source, there is nothing you cannot achieve!

Reason#Two

You are Resourceful not resentful:

Do you know someone who every time you see them it’s an opportunity for them to recount and rehearse something that happened to them years ago? These are 24-hour-news-cycle people; their only mission in life is the constant retelling of their misery.

Blessed people are not resentful. Blessed people do not dwell on the past – they move on to the bigger blessings that life has to offer! In short, blessed people see the end of one thing as the beginning of something bigger and better.

One of my favorite Maxwell Maltz quotes says: Remember, you will not always win. Some days the most resourceful individual will taste defeat. But there is, in this case, always tomorrow – after you have done your best to achieve success today.

A blessed individual does not allow the word ‘can’t’ into their vocabulary; they know that if one door closes – another one’s got to be open somewhere. Don’t be resentful – be blessed and be resourceful!

Reason#Three

You are Faithful not fearful:

What are you most dedicated to? Most people answer that question: my children. But isn’t that a given? Yes, we are reminded daily of people who neglect that supreme responsibility, but as a society we pretty much expect you to be sold out to your children. What about a greater purpose in life? Here’s the point: the more faithful you are to a purpose greater than you, the more you decrease your fear.

A blessed person purposely walks toward their fear and that resoluteness springs from their faith – in themselves and in a Higher Power. Elizabeth Warren said it best: Never be so faithful to your plan that you are unwilling to entertain the improbable opportunity that comes looking for you.

Don’t be fearful – be blessed and be faithful!

When you remember you are powerful, resourceful and faithful you are too blessed to be stressed!
