there are many others for teachers to use as role models and mentors that have overcome struggles and challenges. Literacy, STEM, and the Flying Classroom

All before Barrington turned the age of 28, Barrington Irving built his own plane, flew solo around the world, graduated with honors Magna Cum Laude from Florida Memorial University’s (HBCU) Aeronautical Science Program and initiated an educational nonprofit called Experience Aviation.

A great deal for a young man that grew up in a challenging environment. Barrington was a star football player and promising student with a scholarship to higher education. He turned it down to life his dreCaptain-BarringtonIrving-2016ams of being a pilot.

His nonprofit aims to boost the numbers of children interested in the areas that have not been thought of in STEM, building promising futures for kids that just want to see the next day and survive to graduate high school.

Overcoming the challenges of inner city life in Miami, Florida. Barrington earned the 2007 Congressional Resolution and the Florida State Medallion of Excellence. He has a strong message of determination, hard work, goal and mission orientation and a strong passion to help students in school. He fills the gap for so many students that do not see positive role models and he sets a high standard not just for sports, but for academic excellence.

His passion and mission is to help those that want to pursue careers in Science Technology Engineering and Math or STEM as well as the educational initiative of STEAM Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics.

These opportunities are for students in Middle and High School to attend summer and after school programs to build their intellectual abilities and show them they are more than just athletes and entertainers.

Their futures are not just being involved in gangs, selling drugs, and other illegal activities.

We have to be real with our students because they live in real situations.” Barrington Irving Students will be exposed to programs that engage robotics, flight simulators, field trips and involvement of major industries and corporations that will provide people as mentors, instructors and role models. How can a student not want to build an airplane and watch as Barrington or another pilot fly it? These programs have similar opportunities for students to have hands-on opportunities to build things, to get their hands on technology that will take them to the clouds literally and maybe one day to space.

This video shows the passion that Barrington has for youth, teens and young adults. To take them beyond their comfort zones and excite them about learning. Globally exposing them to worlds apart from the inner city and programmed public education.
