(ThyBlackMan.com) In recent news, a rumor has been spiraling through the internet that two of America’s most lyrical rappers are on a collision course that may possibly alter the state of Hip-Hop.

In one corner, there is the Canadian born rapper/singer who appears to have single- handedly redefined the rap culture by masculinizing singing, dancing, and ghostwriting. And, that no easy feat for a society once defined by the lyrical content of NWA, Scarface, Biggie Smalls and Tupac.

In the other corner, there is an American born White veteran rapper named Eminem. This particular artists’ lyrics catapulted him to the upper echelon of a culture dominated almost exclusively by African-Americans. In a parallel sense, his rise in Hip-Hop is like President Obama’s rise in politics. Simply due to race baiters and culture 2016-Music-Drake-Eminemvultures, I doubt if Eminem or Obama would ever get their just due.

Nevertheless, if the freshman rapper Drake and the veteran rapper Eminem continue upon this seemingly inevitable crash course, the outcome could be catastrophic for the culture. First of all, Drake would need quite a few ghost writers, whose pens are equipped with nuclear capability, to obliterate the self-proclaimed white rap God!

I’m not taking anything away from the Canadian phenomena; however, I am saying that Eminem is not as Meek as Mills. Make no mistake, the white rapper most certainly has a strong hold on the English language and his wordplay is unparalleled in modern rap music.

In fact, let’s go to the tale of the tape:

In the U.S., Eminem is the best-selling artist of the 2000s.

Drake occupies the highest number of singles to reach number one on the Hot R&B and Hip-Hop songs chart.

Rolling Stones rates Eminem 83rd on its list of 100 Greatest Artists of All Time, calling him the king of Hip Hop.

Drake’s album Views sat atop the Billboard 200 for ten nonconsecutive weeks.

Eminem has ten number one albums on the Billboard 200.

Drake led Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 simultaneously for eight consecutive weeks, breaking the previous record of seven held by both Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston.

Eminem has sold more than 172 million albums.

Drake has the highest numbers of singles to reach number one on the Hot Rap Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Rythmic Charts.

Eminem is the second bestselling male artist of the Nielsen sound-scan era; the sixth best-selling artist in the United States, with sales of 45.1 million albums and 42 million tracks.

. With that much combined fire power, I would prefer for the two talented song birds to seek the best in one another and collaborate on some superb, breathtaking hip-hop/R&B duets as opposed to seeking the worst in one another and attempt to destroy or silence a couple of voices that are so needed in our communities.

That said, why is an American Black rapper.
