(ThyBlackMan.com) African-Americans have faced a lot of issues going back to slavery, but how did the current generation get to the point where the violence and other issues got so bad that we are still feeding into the negativity that plagues the black community. With all the issues of racism and violence this is the only way blacks know how to respond. If you actually notice very few even stand up to address the problems without making reference to violence. Like the incident in Ferguson, MO how Michael Brown’s parents told people to tear up their community.

It’s that kind of foolish nonsense that keeps blacks being portrayed in a negative light. We will share the hell out of links all over socblackcommunityial media about blacks being killed or having some incident that’s race-related, but let it be about someone trying to bring change in a non-violent way and it’s seen as being weak. The black mindset has to change in a lot of ways going well past the issue of violence. We have to be in a mindset that’s about rebuilding the community and cleaning up and holding those responsible accountable at the civilian and political levels as well.

There’s no reason why black people today should still be harboring violence and being out here acting out. It’s already enough that prisons across the country are overcrowded with blacks that are doing long sentences mostly because of violent crimes. The black community has that eye-for-an-eye mentality. Thus why we never get anywhere with that way of thinking and much of the behavior today of many blacks is ass backwards. You have young people out here who think that violence solves their problems when in fact you’re just adding to it. You have a community that covers up things because some mother or grandmother want to protect their sons and grandsons even when it’s been proven they committed the crime.

We also don’t hold those who abuse, mistreat, and disrespect others for what they do. It feeds into the mentality that the only way to maintain peace in the black community is to sweep the BS under the rug and treat it with that out of sight, out of mind mentality. It’s ideal to study the dynamics of your own family and you’ll begin to identify the way things are dealt with and how its often times swept under the rug because nobody wants to own up and deal with the situation at hand.

The black community also have fed into the notion that single mothers are the victims when it’s the children they produce who are the victims. The black community rewards this nonsense by expecting people to rally around single mothers who have contributed nothing positive to the community except to keep having babies with men who are not in the position to marry the mother or to properly support the children. It’s the single mothers who get out here every day to work and take care of their kids without anyone’s help financially are the ones cast aside for those who are just out collecting section 8 and other government-funded programs. What is sad now is how the black mentality makes it OK to get comfortable on tax payer money and not thinking about how the counter-productivity within the black community has contributed to the decline of many neighborhoods across America.
