(ThyBlackMan.com) Today, Black and Married With Kids, the largest African American marriage and parenting site on the web, with a following of over 500,000 Facebook fans, have officially announced their honorees for the 2nd Annual Standard Awards.
This spring, BMWK will be honoring couples whose marriages portray a positive example in the African American community. With so many negative images of marriage in the African American community, the Standard Awards have been created to exemplify BMWK’s mission, to give positive examples of marriage that can aspire others.
“We wanted to recognize couples that were exemplifying a positive image of marriage in our community so we created the BMWK Stand Awards”, says Ronnie Tyler.
The Standard Awards, will be presented to African American couples in the community, entertainment industry, ministry and business; that display authentic love and everlasting devotion.
“With so much focus on the negative in our community we wanted to shine a spotlight on the couples that encourage us to love better”, says Lamar Tyler.
BMWK has picked 9 couples that fit this description. The winners of the Standard awards fall under four categories: Celebrity Couples, Couples in Business, Couples in Ministry, and Positive Example.

· Grammy Award winning gospel artist Erica & husband Warren Campbell
· Celebrity Therapist Dr. Sheri & husband Victor Blake
· Creators of Married and Young Jamal & wife Nastaha Miller
· Grammy Award winning rapper Che (Rhymefest) & wife Donnie Smith
To celebrate the honorees, BMWK will be sending an engraved award Standard Award, along with providing recognition to the site audiences of over 800,000.
