(ThyBlackMan.com) “Give me the ready hand, rather that the ready tongue.”

Cesare Pavese

Cesare Pavese’s quote gives a vivid illustration of the political scene in modern America. My primary mode of distraction is the 2016 United States election, scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. Presently, the race has 6 Participants: two Democrats, and four Republicans. Unfortunately, at this political party, one party crasher stands out Donald John Trump, a Republican This is a classic case of a person born on 3rd base, yet boast about the spectacular game changing triple he hit that got him into position to score. Trump is a native of New York City, born June 14th, 1946 to Fred Trump and Mary Ann Macleod. He is a successful real state/business mogul, politician and television personality who has had his rise and fall in business. However, it appears Donald has no filters between his brain and mouth and this writer believes this and other reasons below will be enough to disqualify him from the United States presidential race given his recent gaffe relative to his reluctance to put distance between himself and the self-confessed racist David Duke of the Ku Klux Klan.

RACIAL BIGOT

“If black lives matter, then go back to Africa. We’ll see how much it matters there.”

Donald Trump

This was Trump’s reaction to the protest and the issue of racially motivated violence. This in no small measure expounds his intolerance for other races, especially blacks; his 1991 statement also speaks volumes of his prejudice. “The only kind of people I want counting my money are short guys that wear Yarmulkes Everyday” Obviously, America being a heaven of so donaldtrump-america-2016many races needs a leader who possesses a spirit of oneness. The lack of this quality is a humongous disqualifier. Nearly three decades before the boisterous billionaire began his run for president –before he called for a ban on Muslims entering the United States, for the discharge of all undocumented migrants, before he brand-named Mexicans as “rapists” and was accused of mocking disabled journalist; Mr. Trump called for the reinstatement of the death penalty in New York following a horrific rape case in 1989 involving five Black teenagers who were wrongly convicted in the case.

As a critical player in the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant he executed the unthinkable: Donald Trump disqualified Ms. Japan and Ms. Philippines from the competition, which he held the rights to saying, he made his decision to disqualify the Asian candidates because, “the goal of Miss Universe is to choose a world beauty that represents her country to the fullest extent. Having a half and half candidate from any participating country is not in keeping with the Miss Universe ideals.” Activists and supporters immediately criticized Trump, a contentious Republican presidential candidate, and accused him of racism. Trump responded by saying that “this is not about racism. Rather, it is about celebrating the purity of diversity in our universe.” That sounds surprisingly similar to another disgraced leader (Adolph Hitler) and his movement to purify races. Trumps reluctant and half-hearted refusal to disavow noted hate monger and Ku Klux Klansman David Duke just last week leaves much to be desired with regard to his temperament for hatred and those that harbor ill will towards people not like them. Is this a perspective we want from a man pursuing the job as leader of the free world?

RELIGIOUS VIEW

Pope Francis left little doubt where he stood on the polarizing issue of immigration reform, when responding to the idea of a wall to resist Mexican immigrants saying: “A person, who thinks only about building walls, wherever they may be, and not building bridges, is not Christian. This is not the gospel,” the Pope told journalists who asked his opinion on Trump’s proposals to halt illegal immigration. Trump immediately fired back, calling Francis’ comments “disgraceful.” Trump is a Presbyterian who says he believes the best book of all times is the Holy Bible, which is seconded by his book “The Art of the Deal”, [1987]. When asked if he entreated God for forgiveness he responds. “I like to be good. I don’t like to have to ask for forgiveness. And I am good. I don’t do a lot of things that are bad. I try to do nothing that is bad.” It comes as a surprise to some that an aspirant of the seat of power in God’s own country couldn’t share his best verse of the bible, without misquoting: “Two Corinthians”. Well, this might not be seen as a major red flag, because the seat of power doesn’t restrain people based on religious grounds. But the disqualifier here is that Trump is a leader claiming to be who he isn’t. If Trump truly lives by biblical principles, sharing some verses should come easily. Trump’s view of Christianity is undoubtedly a feeble one. Many of his supporters, such as Mike Huckabee and Pat Robertson, will have lots of explaining to do to the Ultimate Judge when called to account for their refusal to chastise him for his insensitive racial remarks.

MARRIAGES TURNED FIASCO

It takes a stable mind to be successful in marriage. Married to Ivana Zelnickova from 1977-1991, Marla Maples from 1993-1999 and currently a husband to Melania Knaussam-Trump, the question “Can a man with this marital history lead a country” begs for an answer. While failed marriages are not uncommon in today’s society, this paints a very negative view of one who claims to be holier than thou. Even the late Princess Diana Spencer caught his eye at one point.

MEALY MOUTHED

Despite his prejudice for “the blacks”, Trump who doesn’t seem to have a faculty of shame, still made a blatant statement about his desire to be black. “If I were starting off today, I would love to be a well-educated black because I believe they do have an actual advantage” He also seems to be the astute bible reader who considers the Christian sacrament of communion to mean “drinking a little wine and having little crackers”.

Candidate Marco Rubio in recent days revived a decades-old old insult, mocking Trump for having relatively slight hands. Which was a veiled reference to his having a small penis; Trump responded: “Look at those hands, are they small hands?” the front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination said, raising them for viewers to see. “And, he referred to my hands — ‘if they’re small, something else must be small.’ I guarantee you there’s no problem. I guarantee.

His proposed immigration policy for deportation of the approximately 11 million illegal immigrants and the erection of a substantial wall on the Mexico-United states border are all cues of the danger that looms if he becomes president.

America very much needs a helping hand rather that a loose and apparently racist and vulgar tongue.
