(ThyBlackMan.com) Considered one of the best-selling artists of all time, Rihanna has the voice and sex appeal to sway her audience. Since the beginning of her career in 2005, the singer has sold over 200 million records, and with the release of her newest effort, ANTI, the numbers are sure to go up.

Though her career seems flawless when looking at the album sales and successful tours, Rihanna has had her share of controversial moments. Chris Brown, rumors of drug addiction and wanton behavior, accusations of being Jay-Z’s mistress and other mishaps, the singer still manages to get the job done and please her fans. She says the controversy is not of her making. ‘I don’t do things for the response or for the controversy. I just live my life.’music-grammys-work-drake-rihanna

Living her life is something she does well, and she loves to share her adventures with her fans via Snapchat. Her fans get to see her dance, spend time with her loved ones, and most fun of all…party!

Recently, rapper Azaleia Banks took to Twitter to rant about the singer’s newest video, ‘Work’, where she compared the video to Beyonce’s 2003 ‘Baby Boy’ video featuring Sean Paul. “Work video reminds me of baby boy video with Sean Paul except not as fly,” she tweeted, followed by a challenge to the singer to start a beef in order to make the music industry and their artistry, more interesting. Rihanna has yet to comment.

There have been many male celebrity names attached to the singer since the onset of her career. On The Ellen Show, Rihanna admitted that her life is too busy to enjoy a relationship, even texting a guy is too time consuming, she says. Though the singer has been adamant about being a single woman, there’s a Wikipedia page that lists a man by the name of Noah Landers as her partner.

Her fans were disappointed by the singer for being a no-show for her Grammys performance, which took place February 15th, 2016. There was speculation that she had a meltdown during rehearsals, which influenced her decision to pull out of the show. The cancellation of her performance 30 minutes prior to the show caused a crisis. Her representative explained to Us Weekly that, “Based on Rihanna’s examination, after Grammy rehearsal today, Rihanna’s doctor put her on vocal rest for 48-hours because she was at risk of hemorrhaging her vocal chords,” which made it unsafe for her to perform that night. She did, however, apologize to her fans (#NAVY) via Twitter for the no-show.

Her reported illness also called for her tour to be postponed. Instead of launching February 26, at San Diego’s Viejas Arena, the tour will now commence March 12. Her first tour stop will be at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

In December 2015, Rihanna began work on a film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, an adaptation of the comic book series Valerian and Laureline. It is scheduled for a 2017 release.

The pop singer recently celebrated her 28th birthday on February 20th, 2016. Happy belated, Rihanna!
