But he has the distinction of being the first such person to be selected to play in the famous NBA league. In fact his winning turnabout during his stint with the NY Knicks in 2012 resulted in such a global fan following that a new term “Linsanity” was coined to describe it.
A rising star, currently playing with the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets, Jeremy Lin is by far the strongest, fast-paced player excelling in offensive game play. He is well known for launching successful attacks on the basket and is exceptionally magnificent in pick and roll. Even though he has been criticised at times for his weak 
defence, he is a risk taker who is known as a player who is very difficult to defend. His ability to quickly get to the line of free throw, manages to shatter the opponent’s defence every time they attempt to stop him.
Jeremy Lin has been given a number of sobriquets by magazines and press alike. Even the greatest of the greats of basketball acknowledge his superior game play and fanatic fan following. Having graced the cover of many a well-known sports magazine, it would not be wrong to say that no basketball player has generated so much frenzy in the recent history of American basketball. So much so that Lin’s jersey became the highest selling jersey in the months of February and March in NBA. Also the percentage of audience’s viewing of NBA’s basketball games in China has increased by 39% due to this rising star of NBA.
This phenomenon of Jeremy Lin is nothing short of being a magical journey. It has not only taken him places round the world, he is also considered to be a global inspiration for many. New York, Los Angeles and Houston were major milestones on his way to becoming one of the greatest NBA protégés. His spectacular performances, exhilarating run and entertaining game play has helped fuel a movement that is way beyond his imagination.
In spite of all the adulation and fan following, Jeremy Lin till date remains a very humble guy. He feels blessed and fortunate to be able to receive the admiration, love and praise of so many people around the world. But the fact remains that it was not an easy journey for him. He has worked tirelessly to establish himself as a player the team can depend on. Till date he is still striving to better himself and there has been no decline in his commitment towards the game he loves and the game which loves him too.
