If these skills are not up to par then students will be faced with academic challenges. This is why many HBCU’s have remedial classes that cover the diversity of weak or absent skills that either were not taught in high school or that students did not think they would need and did not apply themselves in high school, but now struggle in higher education.

The action of writing/blogging is paramount in telling a story, sharing information and expressing ideas. I was not always a strong writer in high school and college, but I understood that I had to develop my abilities if I wanted people to take me seriously and consider the information that I share as valuable. Today as a national and international blogger and college professor it is important that I continue to improve my writing abilities because I’m a role model and mentor
for others that read my content and use me as a model.
