Why Ben Carson Can’t (And Won’t) Be President.

(ThyBlackMan.com) Ben Carson is not qualified to be President. He is not a politician and that can be a good thing. But it can also mean he does not understand how things work in the world of politics. He has no experience in that world and politics is an entirely different animal from the business sector or the medical industry. If you watched the Republican debates and heard Carson share his ideas, you know what I am saying is true. You can make a ton of radical promises and statements like Carson and Trump are making, but once you get to Washington, political rhetoric cannot so easily be converted to actions or results.

Ben Carson has proven that he lacks discretion. If he had 10 billion dollars and “white” skin, he would be Donald Trump. The next President must be tactful, diplomatic and careful with his statements, even if or especially if they are true statements. A President cannot afford to make irresponsible statements that isolate America, create more enemies and build walls at a time when we need to build bridges. Such behavior could easily trigger riots, protests or even a war. Such irresponsible comments could place our soldiers in harm’s way from those who want to retaliate. Such irresponsible statements could strengthen the arguments made by Isis, Al Qaeda, Hamas and others about the west. Carson’s bold statement that a Muslim should not be President is a slap in the face of every law abiding Muslim who lives here and loves this country – whether we agree with their beliefs or not.

Sharia law does not coincide with the United States Constitution as a matter of fact. However it is not that simple. For example, the BenCarson-2016Sharia law guideline for stoning is similar to the guidelines given by the Pharisees when “Jesus” walked the Earth. Is this a dark part of the Bible – the same Bible that this country proclaims it used as its foundation? I am not here defending Sharia law, but I must say some areas of it have been both misstated and misunderstood by those in our country who want to continue an “us vs. them” climate. These Americans are promoting the same chaos and hatred that groups like ISIS are promoting. ISIS is not good, but ironically, they cut off heads and this country uses drones. I do not believe in doing either one. But also ask yourself this question, does our country find enemies, create them, provoke them, label them or just sit still while they choose to hate us?

The hypocritical irony is that the “founding fathers” of this country were in fact traitors who left England, annihilated the Native Americans, captured, oppressed, killed and enslaved the free people of Africa. If the British had won the war against this country, the “founding fathers” would have been tried and convicted of treason and executed for it. So that brings us back to our U.S. Constitution. A righteous document? Hmmmm. That brings us on to our Declaration of Independence when neither Native Americans nor African slaves in this country were allowed to be independent. It is amazing how this country settles into self righteousness in an attempt to simply forget it’s past. I am an American and my point is simple. If we are going to restrict all of one group based on what some of its members have done, then there will be no group that will qualify for anything.

Ben Carson is the token Negro. Just as Herman Cain was the “token Negro” in the previous election and Steele was as the pseudo-head of the Republican party. The GOP wants as much of the African American vote as it can get. But not because it cares about us, rather because the GOP wants to win the Presidency. So they pop up a token, whether he knows it or not. He gets out there, just like Herman Cain. He gains momentum, just like Herman Cain. Then he does something stupid or something he did in the past is uncovered (just like Herman Cain) and his run is to the toilet instead of the Whitehouse.

Being Anti-Islam is just as bad as being Anti-Semetic.

It is bigotry and discrimination. It is stereotyping everybody into one basket. It is a dangerous way of thinking. Where would it stop? And ironically, both Arabs (who are mainly Muslim) and Jews are both Semetic peoples, joined at the very least through Abraham. I am not a Muslim, but as a scholar and researcher, I am familiar with Islam, the Hadith, the Quran, Shiites, Sunnis and Sharia law. I am also familiar with the life and actions of Mohammad. But if we are going to discriminate against Muslims because of what some have done, then we should also discriminate against Christians because of all the people they killed during The Crusades. Should we then say a Christian should not be President? Or what about banning Catholics because of the dark past the Catholic Church had concealed from World War II and all the priests who molested altar boys? If we really want to go down that road, we might not end up electing anybody.

There are millions of Muslims in this country who are here legally. They pay taxes. They own businesses. They provide jobs. They pay tuition. They are embedded in American society, they are United States citizens, they vote and many of them either qualify for political office or already hold one. How then could a country that boasts of equal opportunity simply reverse all of that? And this very point is what makes Ben Carson’s statements so unwise and irresponsible, traits we cannot afford to have in a President of the United States.

Ben Carson’s message is the opposite of tolerance. I can see his rationale and yet not agree. It is true, for example, that the United States, when going to war with Japan, rounded up all the Japanese people in this country and placed them in camps – whether they did anything or not. But then again, isn’t that how Hitler did the Jewish people? It is ironic that America speaks of tolerance and diversity on one hand while defending bigotry and keeping racism in place on the other. A good example of this is the hundreds of thousands of dollars donated by Caucasian people to Caucasian officers who killed unarmed African Americans. That makes an awful statement – not a statement of freedom, equality and justice. And if we promote stereotypical intolerance against people who have done nothing wrong, Ben Carson might as well be equated with Black Lives Matter and not allowed to run for President.
