(ThyBlackMan.com) Kudos black women! Pat yourselves on the back. Welcome back black woman! You shut down hundreds of Asian businesses across America and I’m loving it… loving it… loving it…loving it! When I first told you about the Asians taking truckloads of money out of the black community you immediately reassessed the problem. You entered the data into your brain computer and you printed out a solution.

You went natural. You ignored all the news outlets, movies, magazines, television shows and internet propaganda telling you to look more like white women. You ignored Beyonce’s weave and did your own thing. Meanwhile, white women were out getting lip injections, butt injections, tan in a can and ethnic- training (did you like that word?), to look just like you. White women can imitate you- black woman, but they can’t duplicate you. And they sure as hell don’t have your natural hair.

Oh, there’s going to be backlash from the dominate society who sees your change as an affront to their power; recognizing the lies and manipulation. However; keep it up!  Your children will see this and be proud of mommy and wish to emulate you instead of the false, propaganda images they put on television.BlackHairCare-2014

I am so happy for you black woman and you black man. You pulled together and made it happen. You’ve rousted thousands of Asians from the black community who had been exploiting us. Black man pat yourself on the back too- for doing your part. You told your black Queens how beautiful her natural hair looked-and made her smile. She needed to hear that positive afirmation coming from you. Great job black woman for showing your daughters you could abandon your weave and go natural. They will follow suit.

I’m one of the first people to call attention to the Asian problem and now you’re sending them back to the orient in droves; empty handed. As the love for yourself increases, so will your thirst for the knowledge of who you are. And to all the people who were talking trash to me and you for loving ourselves; you all know what you can kiss don’t you? We’re winning and I’m loving it! God Bless Black America!

There is not one ounce of proof in this article. Nothing but an opinion.

  2. Vassie Welbeck-Browne says:

This is great news! Now what remains is to cure the addiction to the dragon lady 2 mile long nails…and yes, let’s rebuild the great business model of the past (such as the Black Wall Street), but this time let us be sure to be ready to defend them! Others should not be able to destroy them again…whether via violence or financial strategies…let us plan and execute well!

  3. Maat Ra Auset says:

Why is it a fuckin ching chong on here makin comments?!?! Shut yo ass the fuck up and get the hell out of our communities! It’s only a matter of time, ya’ll are DONE!!!

  4. Asian women says:

Ignorant article. If your so concerned about asians “taking over” then build your own business but oh, I’ll pause and wait……

  5. Riya says:

I think this is a beautiful article and needed to be written . It’s not cool that African American girls are sending Asian kids to school and making Asians rich while black kids continued to get looked down on by these same people their helping accumulate all this wealth . Asians have no respect for African women they use them for their dollars but won’t talk or associate with them and not only Asians but Indians Koreans Arabs and other races do this to I’m glad we’re starting to embrace our natural hair it’s beautiful and it will grow longer than these extensions with proper care and patience

  6. Satchel says:

Excellent article makes the point that collectively we have a impact on the market place, with how we spend our money. Imagine, if more black businesses would sell the essential items, that we buy and use everyday (food, paper goods, phone service, Electronic devices, ect).

  7. Black and proud says:

Black people are so forgiving of others it’s unreal. We make excuses for other races, we support every race financially but when you go to a Chinese store to try and sell your product to them at a cheaper price than their fellow Chinese man, what do they do. Say ” We buy from our own” . But yet people want to bash this article for saying well done for not putting your money into a man’s hands that doesn’t and will never support your community

Yes teach your children to love every race, but not at the expense of your own.

Props to the women that are buying from their fellow sistas and supporting their businesses. Because who else will?

And I repeat, Black people are too forgiving. Lovers of those that don’t love them back equally. Crabs is a barrel. Moan about the article being us vs them, but have no sense of community.

  8. Nate says:

That’s what blacks have to do if those who build business in the black communities but not support them. BOYCOTT!!!

  9. Anita says:

This article is stupid. The author is obviously clueless that Black Women still flock to Asian BSS stores to buy “Natural Products” for their natural hair. Even drug stores sale natural hair products. And he obviously doesn’t know that natural ladies still do purchase kinky extensions for braids, locs, twists, and other natural styles. I do believe we as the #1 consumer of these products, should have ownership of it.

  10. kim says:

Thanks, Alan, for posting the video. EVERY MINUTE IS WORTH WATCHING! I dare everyone else do the same.

  11. misunderstood says:

I dont think the article is meant to be so racist. It’s just going into Asian hair shops we always get treated like crap. Getting followed in the store, not greeted politely if at all and overpriced products. I do think its crazy that the author takes credit for this and it could have been written to not sound so racist without putting in facts.

  12. Non-black says:

    When is racism ok?
When the racist says it is ok.
This opinion piece is blatantly racist against Asians.
This piece is anti-American…pro “black America ”

    Sad future ahead….

  13. Tru says:

Thank you. I just feel like we should show our children the benefits of every race. Even if they our only benefits shown to us through social media. I don’t want my kids to read something like this and think they are better than somebody. I would rather them read something with no bias opinions regarding race gender sexual preference. Because at the end of the day what benefit is it to hate, and that what this article portrays is hate. To me at least.

  14. CD says:

So much stupidity in this article, the author is a hypocrite, boycotting Asian businesses would be nice, but I’m willing to bet the tv in his crib, threads on his back, the cellphone he’s rockin and his tips on his feet probably say made in China/Japan/Vietnam. Hell even the tablet/computer/laptop he used to write this article is made from there, better get rid of all that shit, for the cause! Right?

  15. geejai says:

Instead of hating on the business practices of Asian stores owners, why don’t Blacks gets together and create competition. We live in a Capitalist country so go out and compete. Many of these stores are in poor urban areas, many which have been declared Enterprise zones. Money through Federal grants is available to open businesses . But we are too busy being consumers instead of investors.

  16. geejai says:

I dont know what is more more offensive, the racist tone of this article or the poor writing. Also, where did this writer get the belief that he is the reason Black women are going natural and no longer shopping at Asian Beauty Supply stores? He provides no data to support his claim, no links to support, Talk about ego. These stores sale natural hair products also. And why do you blame an Ethnic group for doing business in your community? Why don’t Blacks open up stores? By the way I am a Black woman who has been natural since 2008.

  17. Tru says:

Still the way he talks down on another race. Even if Koreans have monopolized the black hair industry, good for them.

  18. Alan says:

This article is not the poppycock that some of you purport it to be. If you are willing to be educated, view this short documentary and it will show you how Koreans have monopolized the black hair care industry. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wx6zpx699m0

  19. Brian says:

How is taking away business from anyone a good thing? This article is so poorly written its hard to understand exactly what the writer is trying to convey. What I inferred is that Asians in black communities were/are selling hair products to ‘anglo-fy’ themselves? Maybe….. I don’t agree disagree or care about any of that. I’m a white guy and I’d love to be able to sport an afro from time to time, I can’t, its just not in the cards for me ;(. What bothers me about this article is this author seems to want to divide blacks from asians and whites. Which I’m pretty sure is incredibly racist. If I based where I bought anything off the owners ethnicity I would be considered racist. Wait, I would be racist. The more I consider this article the more infuriated I get. I don’t know what happened before the 80s cuz I wasn’t alive yet but I didn’t shame anyone in wearing a weave or thinking they were ugly or should ‘look and act white’ whatever that means. If someone feels prettier wearing a weave wear one or don’t. Be comfortable in your own skin.

Don’t blame the Asians for selling a product that seems to be marketable. Any loss of business in a community is a bad thing. You call it exploitation but its just market capitalism. And dude, let me explain something to you. This ‘exploitation’ you write of isn’t just happening in black communites. Those movies show all races what is in style to wear, what new diet is trending, what foods to buy, what aps to download. It effects EVERYONE! We live in a capitalist society and in order for it to function everyone needs to spend money. Accept the fact and be happy that someone wants to market you. My recommendation is that everyone procreate with someone of a different race so everyone is the same and we don’t have to deal with this kind of almost comical hatred. I’m not infuritated anymore because its just too funny. I shouldn’t of wasted 5 minutes writing a response to this complete and utter nonsense. HAHAHA Oh and P.S. Don’t ever try and tell Beyonce what she is suppose to wear again! Jerk.

  20. Tru says:

This is the kind of thing I will hate for my children to have to deal with as a black father. I wonder what would happen if the article was about Asians or whites shutting down our hair stores and moving in? Racist mofos right? As soon as we realize not everybody is out to get us, not every little thing that goes on in our day to day is an attack on your skin color, then we will always look like the biggest fools. This article is dumb. Our parents and we have made the decision to let these people do this. Stores don’t just open up overnight. This guy is happy that another race of OUR people is taking a loss. He is happy, shut more of THEM down.and If you don’t think I’m right it’s ok. Just switch all the black and Asian and see how racist this is.

  21. sunshine says:

Xavier seems to have a problem with Asians. You are a prime example of why Black people will always seem ignorant and like a bunch of complaining hypocrites. We live in GLOBAL market in 2015 and thats why businesses are so integrated. Take Economics 101 lol. If you want 100% black business then stop wearing other ethnicity’s hair (mostly made in Asia), you will need to make weaves out of your own hair. The reason why black people will never rise above is because when some of them have a voice they sound more foolish, ignorant and hateful then the most racist white. Peace. Positive Enery Always Creates Elevation – learn it.

  22. Yaas! ???? Please continue to support Black owned businesses!I specialize in Vegan products for ethnic hair. #Ayurveda #Emerald #Shampoo Bar at http://www.Etsy.com/shop/Soapiphany or http://www.soapiphany.com

  23. jcjack20 says:

Don’t forget as you take back your money from these establishments to be sure to support and spread the word about black-owned (bob) beauty businesses. Now other nationalities are buying up natural hair businesses. For example L’Oréal purchased Carol’s Daughter. Do your research, just because a black person is on the package or the spokesperson, doesn’t mean it is minority owned. Check out Koils by Nature, hairizonbeauty.com and sweet soul magic to name a few of BOB’s

  24. Lisa says:

This is a terrible article. There is money to be made in every community. Asians are making money. Within the context odlf this article, it just happens to be in the black community. What’s the problem? Is it that blacks aren’t making money from their own community? If so, whose fault is that?

  25. skotts says:

So now that we know we can do it, what’s next? Black people have to get pass the us vs them, black man vs black woman, nonsense. WE are all WE have, period. WE have to unite and close ranks because far to long we have sold our gifts to the world with little or no return. Material items are no match for generational wealth that we are blowing on a car and forcing our children into student loan debt so we can “high ball” for people we don’t know. WE have to teach our children at home about money credit and business ownership. WE have to teach them about OUR history before MLK and Selma and the other limiting stories. WE have to teach at home because the schools refuse to acknowledge our achievements as a people and want to keep us financial slaves. WE have to unite now cause once Obama, who fid nothing for black people, is gone, no one will do anything for us because we had a black potus and didn’t demand anything from him. We have Traders amongst us, they have to go.

  26. jfry says:

It is Us vs them. They took OUR money and used it to pay for THEIR children’s education. Now society calls US stupid and calls THEM intelligent. Their ancestors and ours had no difference in itellingence levels, they just put their own ppl first. Blacks are the only race that’s too naive to get reality. There’s a a difference between an ally and a friend.

  27. Dre says:

Koreans have tons of business in white neighborhoods too, doing white peoples nails, eyelashes, etc. Blacks empowering themselves to create their own business is great, I just don’t think the “us against them” view is doing anything but creating more division and hate.

  28. PBTTHINKER says:

Now what are you as black males going to do about shutting down all of those stores where you buy all of those caps, team jerseys, rims and all of the other nonsense you throw money away on making white and Asian people rich?

Black women are not children and do not need to be schooled by black males on how to conduct themselves or on how to be. Black males need to work on getting their own act together instead of worrying about what black women are doing all of the time. Black women certainly don’t need any advice from some patriarchy pusher like this fool who wrote this nonsense.

  29. blackrage jackson says:

Too many ppl speaking on black issues negatively. As far as the Asians that “deal” with us Are taught racism toward us systematically. I stopped shopping with them because I got tired of myself and loved ones being followed and harassed as if we were “shop lifting” we all boy cotted. I told them no more will this continue so enjoy exploiting us while you can.and why do folks cry about the shoplifting and they don’t own the business. I don’t believe in stealing. But as far as being around our “ghettoness” they came around us to exploit us! Also the black owned beauty supply’s get robbed massively by the Asians. We need to just take care of our own again, love ourselves as a Ppl and start of own economics in full circle

  30. Adrienne Williams says:

My mom and I have opened up our very own Boost Mobile Store in Atlanta, GA we are the only Black-owned Boost Mobile Store in the State of Georgia! The norm is mostly Asian.

  31. SLRight says:

Realman2, Here in Seattle, WA one black owned beauty supply has shutdown two Korean owned beauty supply stores within the last ten years. It is happening…slowly but surely.

  32. nothing worse than person in denial says:

Some people on these post are misinformed like the person that falsley stated black people created ghettos its sad that our people are so mis informed about everything that isn’t validated by a white person. The fact is that america as it relates the black people is predicated on race. Other groups practice the same behaviour as white people traditionally have regarding economics. In this case its great the Asians are out the community so now its time to fill the gap and provide hair care services in your community.

  33. Abiel says:

I agree, the hair is a start, now we need So called black and so called latino families to come together. There’s a video on YouTube called unbeweavable, by a group of brothers from IUIC y’all need to see! They talk about alopecia and fibroids in women, and how it links to perms.

  34. Abiel says:

I agree, the hair is a start, now we need Do called blavk and socalled latino families to come together. There’s a video on YouTube called unbeweavable, by a group of brothers from IUIC y’all need to see! They talk about alopecia and fibroids in women, and how it links to perms.

  35. Jess Cab says:

Now,tell them to stop buying Chinese food and start opening soul food restaurants.

  36. peckerwood says:

    tobias

boy im going to have to have a talk with your daddy. he did not raise your right, you don’t marry those feral savages, if ya gotta nut, go for a ride, get off and go down the road… that’s all their good for, hell son, they wear dead peoples hair, and horses hair on their heads, and you want to waste your DNA, on one of those silver-backs??? something is wrong with you man.

  37. kk says:

Why is about US VS other all the time. We don’t see other race talking about us the same way we talk about them. We are against every other groups in American. All these other groups are busy thinking big while we are still living in the past. I think we are doing our self harm when we over play my history. Let focus on ourself and stop comparing groups or be the complaining race.

  38. Tobias says:

Carmen San Diego, you sound like one of them extreme leftist Cali chicks. Sorry to bust your bubble, but let me educate you on a few things you got wrong. First off, Im not White American, I have NO clue what your talking about (white men planting seeds into black minds) Im from EUROPE and in my home country I never experienced racism growing up, therefore I can not act on it. If I was racist I would not love black woman all my life and have a 14 year old mixed son. I did however learn about racism from people like you when I got to America at the age of 10. And yes you can consider me racist against FAKE hair FAKE eyelashes that sag, FAKE nails that are too long, FAKE facial compound that rubs off on peoples clothes when u hug them, or anything else that woman use to try to be something they are not. I love my wife and love her just the way she is even when she wakes up in the morning. My wife and I are both US Army War Veterans who have served our Country to protect not only all the Awesome Americans but even low-educated leftists like you so u can live FREELY in PEACE to write CRAP online against people that have actually done something for society. And YES Im PROUD to go around and announce that I love my BLACK WIFE!!! So don’t hate on me, ok. And by the way, the reason my WHITE self was on this BLACK website is cause my BLACK wife’s Mother who by the way is also BLACK emailed me this link telling me to check it out. Instead of bashing whites (that u obviously hate and are racist against) you should talk to GOD and ask for better understanding and give Thanks for all your blessings during this Thanksgiving season.

  39. live01 says:

It’s not just having natural hair, you have to own and distribute your own products. Most of the beauty supplies are being sold in Asian stores. I personally buy my products from an African store, but I live in a state that is 90% white, so finding products for my hair is a challenge.

  40. carmen san diego says:

And another thing… Reading all of these other racist comments… Wy are white people even reading/commenting on a website that’s called “thyblackman”? I’m not black, but you dont have to be black to realize that white folks really hate it when black people have something for themselves. They invade everything that black people do and have.

  41. carmen san diego says:

@Tobias, your comment disgusted me. White men telling the sistas? Are you fracken serious? It was white men who originally planted the insidious seed into the minds of black women that they had to look and act like white women. White men are the ones who make black women feel ugly and on the bottom of the beauty heirachy. White men are the reasons why America sees all black women as ugly, “ratchet”, unworthy, loud, emotionless and masculine. Just because you have a black wife whom you apparently shamed out of wearing extensions, doesnt give you the right to claim that white men are now responsible for “helping the sistas.” You sound racist, and yes, you can have a black wife/lover/friend/relative, and still be racist. Check yourself. White men are THE LAST people on this earth who should be taking credit for black womens beauty and confidence. “My new black wife,” jeepers how terrifying! I hope you dont go around introducing her like that.

  42. Erie Reynolds says:

Are y’all blaming Beyonce for weaves???? Lolol please stop. I’m in the process of going natural just waiting for my fro to be at it’s full potential and one of the best ways to do so is sew ins. Did Bey put this sew in in my head? No. She didn’t even purchase the hair that I purchased from a BLACK business. So please don’t try to take shots at her, an exceptional Black woman, for something that was installed in her like it was most of us (Black women). With her daughter and sister on board, who knows she could be working on her fro.

Any Black women still wearing weave buy it from another sister.

  43. Tobias says:

When I was in Afghanistan I met my future wife on a christian dating website in a tent in the desert. The first photo I seen on her profile she was wearing weave or a wig or something (not my cup of tea). Later on, I politely informed her that I had a bad experience once before where I had a date over and while cuddled up watching a movie I brushed my finger tips through her hair (trying to be romantic) and felt nothing but tracks n clue. As a WHITE man it literally freaked me out! Ever since returning from War, my (now) awesome black wife has been all natural. And here we are about to celebrate our 2nd wedding anniversary end of this month, and her hair has grown with our marriage…lol. So yea…its not just BLACK men telling the sistas they look great in GODs created hair, but WHITE men too!?

  44. toomanygrandkids says:

You are too funny and so is this article. Black women aren’t shutting down Asian businesses unless they are buying and operating those businesses. You know damn well that hasn’t happened. Most likely this is your dream. But I’ll tell you what black females and males are doing. They are robbing/stealing bundles of hair from Asian stores. They are also disrespecting Asians and you best believe Asians are fighting back. Asians work entirely too hard everyday to have to put up with blacks who have bad attitudes.

  45. jawn says:

I see the sentiment in this article is beautiful, but it is simply not reality.Asians have their neighborhoods, jews, etc….
But the places they claim are somewhat peaceful enough to have a safe neighborhood and simple safe school system.
I think whats more important is stopping the fact that 90% plus of African Americans are murdered by other African Americans, while 90% of interracial violence is committed by black people.
My earth shattering realization is,if black people arent safe in their own neighborhoods around their own people, then how can any other race feel safe around them??
That is why the stats match…90 percent of black people murdered by other black people, while this same group that murders one another with abandon would obviously also commit 90% of interracial violence.
Until those stats improve, maybe black brothers themselves dont even see owning the businesses in their own neighborhoods as a good business decision.
I think what happens is immigrants come into the Usa who are unaware of such rates of violence in the black community, they come in and crunch numbers of having their own business, they get a loan, they get their businesses up and running and then find themselves stuck in violent inner cities learning the lessons of life hard and fast.
Maybe the black community should thank the immigrants who keep businesses open in their own neighborhoods, who are even victims of racial attacks by black people, and be thankful for the services they provide….
Because like I said, maybe there arent black owned businesses as such in great numbers because intelligent black people know the violence and theft rates of their own communities in the inner cities and thus come to the informed decision that it simply may not be profitable or safe,in stark contrast to the immigrant who may not know such things and is the reason they open a business in the inner cities in the first place.
    God speed.
How can black people have a nation or society within the Usa when the leading killer of black people is other black people????It makes no sense!!

  46. Fantaman says:

Is this a joke? Negroes celebrating the loss of business in their communities? And then they’re shocked they live in ghettoes THEY created?

  47. Pat Barrow says:

I do not understand this. Asian people are not your problem. They just took advantage of an opportunity that YOU BLACK PEOPLE REFUSE TO DO! WHEN YOU CHASE THEM OUT WILL YOU NOW REPLACE THE STORES WITH THE SAME? OR OPEN A STORE AT ALL?

YOU WANT TO SHUT THEM DOWN while supporting those who have historally murdered and incarcerated your Black Men? come on give me a break here and get real.

You want to shut them down but you do not support Black Business Owners at the same time. What a confused and manipulated people.

fee free to respond back I look forward to it !

BLACK COMMUNITY IS A MANIPULATED COMMUNITY. LEAVE THE ASIAN PEOPLE ALONE, YOU MADE IT HAPPEN.

  48. Realman2 says:

Where exactly is this happening? I have not seen or noticed any bw going natural or avoiding Asian hair stores.

  49. Dcarter910 says:

This is fantastic news. I love the natural hair movement amongst our sisters. Please repost this across as many websites as possible. (if it is true): Where is your source of information for this news? How are you tracking the closing Asian beauty shops?

Just curious. Seriously, not bashing AT ALL.

On another note. It would be great if a sister invented a faster, easier way to manage natural hair. My o’l lady spends about 30-45 minutes every night putting large braids in her hair so that her natural hair looks “styled”. This is a gold opportunity for black innovation for something that supports our women and our community as a whole.

  50. Akosua says:

Not only the hair game but the name game too. Black women are single handily doing partially what Malcolm X intended. They are removing the master’s christian name. I love hearing Daquan & Sahkara. As the author stated about imitation, non black women are even copying our names.
