(ThyBlackMan.com) Reigning Heisman award winning quarterback Jameis Winston and the Florida State Seminoles will host Notre Dame this weekend in a matchup of two top five teams. The outcome of this game will most definitely have a major impact on the national championship picture come January. That is the major reason why Florida State, despite an ongoing “investigation” into Jameis Winston’s past and recent transgressions, will not be suspended for this nationally televised game. During the past two seasons both teams have played for national championships (Notre Dame lost to Alabama in 2012, Florida State beat Auburn last year, respectively)  and have an opportunity to do so again this season.

There’s no way Florida State University-once nicknamed ‘Free Shoes University’ under legendary coach Bobby Bowden. That reputation seems to be still standing in regards to how the university is treating Jameis Winston. What’s clear is that there is and always will be a HUGE differenceJameis-Winston-Florida-State-No-Helmet-2014 between a regular season ACC game and a potentially lucrative (READ: Millions of dollars) date with millions of viewers. Looks like Jameis Winston could do anything short of murder (this is not an exaggeration of course, oner of the charges against him that were dropped was sexual assault) and play in the weekends scheduled affair.

All of this is aimed at helping Florida State win another national title thereby collecting another bundle of millions from alumni and fans that will either attend the title game (along with the game this weekend) and buy boatloads of memorabilia. One thin that IS NOT happening is teaching Jameis Winston any real life lessons.

From the moment he started his first game last season till being handed the Heisman award in New York till kickoff on Saturday against Notre Dame, Winston has been pampered and protected. What real price has he payed for acting like the poster boy “spoiled jock” ? Answer: Nothing.

If Florida State were to bench Jameis Winston this weekend a very clear message would be sent to the entire nation: We do not tolerate this type of behavior at Florida State University from our student-athletes. Instead another message is being sent loud and clear: Here at Florida State University we do not care what you think about our student-athletes OFF of the field as long as they win ON it.

With “Famous” Jameis Winston at the helm Saturday night facing a solid and veteran laden Notre Dame defense I believe that is exactly what will happen. Unfortunately in the end the biggest loser will be Winston.
