Kandi Burruss, the singer of the R and B girls group Xscape recently married her beau Todd Tucker. Tucker was a line producer for the Bravo TV hit reality show Real Housewives of Atlanta. The two were paired up by a one of the other show’s members and close friend Phaedra Parks who introduced the now married couple.

Kandi’s wedding party was made of a list of who’s who in entertainment and some unknown ladies also. Real Housewives of Atlanta Kandi Burruss’s childhood friends were the Matron of Honor, her Maid of Honor and part of her bridesmaids crew. TI’s wife and former Xscape member Tameeka “Tiny”, the R and B singer Fantasia, rapper Rasheeda and Phaedra Parks a fellow Housewife of Atlanta star were members of the bridal party. Also not to discriminate, another one of Kandi’s childhood friends Kwame stood in as a Brides-man.

Yes I know interesting, just as interesting as Kandi’s choice to marry her new hubby Todd Tucker without a prenuptial agreement. Was this a bad move? Hmmmm let’s hope not. Even though Kandi’s Burruss’ mama is not too happy. Mama Joyce was not too excited about the upcoming nuptials. Kandi’s Mama Joyce expressed that she felt Todd might only want her daughter’s hard earned money.

Real Housewives of Atlanta Kandi Burruss may not be in Oprah’s league, but her bank account is far from janky. Burruss has royalty checks from writing hits for such mega artists as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Usher, and TLC. She has also invested in other business moves such as clothing stores and her sex toy line Bedroom Kandi. All of these savvy business moves leaves Burruss reportedly being worth $35 million.

Her radar signals went crazy when Real Housewives of Atlanta Kandi Burruss’s husband Tucker decided that Mama Joyce could not move into the guest house that sits behind Kandi’s mansion. Dang he’s forcing Real Housewives of Atlanta Kandi Burruss to kick her mama out all ready? Hmmm maybe she should have thought twice about that prenup and followed NeNe Leakes lead. I’m just saying.

First of all, a parent should have their OWN life, and not have to hang on to their adult children’s life. That is expected, rational, healthy in a healthy relationship, especially if the parents do not have any medical issues preventing them to do so.
You fail to mention that her mother stated that she does not need Kandi’s money, over and over. So why is she always following behind her daughters success? That is dysfunctional. It lends itself to that person thinking they can run your life, as they will soon start speaking from their interest and not your interest if it occurs long enough.
Second, where is Janky Joyce’s mother? I do not see her in Janky’s life to the extent that she is in Kandi’s life. If JJ’s mother has passed, then maybe Janky should give her daughter what she had. A life where her mother is not standing over her every move as an adult. No one needs a hands on parent as an adult, that is for dependent children, not independent adults. *note: Beyoncé moving past her father’s influence, and she did not suffer for it, even if she divorces J. it was a good move.
Third, even you must admit that a parent should not be so involved in their children’s life that they think their opinions should matter more than their adult child’s in regards to their own life. Kandi should not have to had to go thru what she went thru on her wedding day. It was her day. Not her mother’s, not Cameron, or anyone else at that exact time, so everyone should have allowed her to experience it as the bride in her own experience, not their opinion of it. That is taking things to far to do otherwise. She paid for it, and can not even enjoy it the way a normal person would who friends and family had their best interest at heart, and not their own best interest. Kandi protected herself with the prenupt, everyone else should have let her mind her own business.
Fourth, who wants to live under a over bearing parents rules and regulations in their own home as an adult? That is the time when we get to live by our own rules. We have had 18 or more years of living under their rules once we leave their home, can’t a person live their own life, according to their own rules as a fully functioning adult? Can they not have 18 plus years of not having to be stood over like they were as a child? lol If they need advice, they know where to go!!!
Kandi’s mother is use to enjoying the success of her daughter since her child was 16 years old. You wonder why some children divorce their parents, it is because of what this woman has been seen doing to her own adult child. She is not willing to let go. Kandi is not willing to let her go either, which only makes her mother worse off, not better off in regards to letting her live her own life. If this relationship was religion people would be calling it a cult. They are wonderful on the outside, but on the inside are very manipulating.
MIND CONTROL-is a suite of psychological techniques that cult leaders attempt to control their members with. Action: Joyce dishonestly trying to influencing her daughter to not marry Todd.
DECEPTION-Because if people knew their true practices and beliefs beforehand then they would not join. Action: Joyce, “his father is a pimp, and his mother is a prostitute.”
Exclusivism- cult leaders will tell you can only be “saved” (or can only be successful) in their organization alone. No other organization has the truth, all others miss the mark. So it is not the belief system that decides your future, but it the belief system AND your membership with that particular group. Joyce wants Kandi to stay as she is, like her, (no husband)only to be being controlled by her, and/or the Aunties, who Joyce runs as well, until Kandi stepped in and went talked to her aunts without her mother there. Also, Joyce told Kandi, that Carmon is not your friend, she is jealous of you. She wants Todd. The other friend is allowed to be Kandi’s friend, because she caters to Janky Joyce. That is the only reason why.
FEAR & INTIMIDATION-Cult leadership is feared. To disagree with leadership is the same as disagreeing with God. The cult leaders will claim to have direct authority from God to control almost all aspects of your life. If the cult is not a religious group then questioning the leaders or program will still be seen as a sign of rebellion and stupidity.

Guilt, Character Assassination and Breaking Sessions. Guilt will be used to control you. Maybe the reason you’re not making money is because you’re not “with the programme”. Maybe the reason you’re not able to convert new recruits is because “your heart is prideful and full of sin”. It could never be that the programme isn’t working, or those new recruits have valid reasons for not joining. It’s always your fault, you are always wrong, and so you must try harder! You will also be made to feel very guilty for disobeying any of the cult’s written or unwritten rules.
Guilt- you see what happened between your father and I.
Character Assassination-What she said about Todd’s parents.
Breaking Sessions-Joyce, “You will not let me come over your house.” When Kandi attempted to keep the peace in her OWN house with her husband and her mother.
LOVE BOMBING & RELATIONSHIP CONTROL-Cults know that if they can control your relationships then they can control you. Whether we like it or not we are all profoundly affected by those around us. When you first go to a cult they will practice “love bombing”, where they arrange instant friends for you. It will seem wonderful, how could such a loving group be wrong! But you soon learn that if you ever disagree with them, or ever leave the cult then you will lose all your new “friends”. This unspoken threat influences your actions in the cult. Things that normally would have made you complain will pass by silently because you don’t want to be ostracized. (When Kandi cries instead of speaking up.) Like in an unhealthy relationship love is turned on and off to control.
Relationship Control EXZ; Janky Joyce, “People change when they get married.” I was right about A.J., Todd will leave you for a white girl.
Reporting Structure- “The walls have ears”. Everyone is encouraged to watch out for “struggling” brothers and sisters and report what they see to leadership. Often information given in deepest confidence is automatically reported to leadership. Cult leaders will then use this information to convince their members that they have a supernatural link, the trusting member does not suspect the very natural mechanism behind the supernatural revelations they are given.
EXZ. Joyce, I have resources in the streets, people who tell me things about Todd. He is an opportunist.
Time Control-Mind control cults keep their members so busy with meetings and activities that they become too busy and too tired to think about their involvement. Time control also helps the cult keep their members immersed in the manufactured cult environment.
Joyce wants to keep Kandi away from Todd, for her own reasons. She does not want Todd to spend more time with Kand than she does. She is unwilling to let go and let her have her own life, and that Kandi does not see her own mother’s negative involvement in her own life. Why not just move into the guest house. : P And time control helps keep cult members away from friends and family.
