The Beyonce Effect.

(ThyBlackMan.com) In the aftermath of the fallout between Beyonce’s sister Solange and her husband Jay-Z, some have seriously pondered the negative impact, if any, that the now infamous elevator brawl will have on Beyonce’s career.  I offer this opinion-None at all!

As Beyonce has proven in the past by putting a positive and usually lucrative spin on negative attention (see “I’m A Survivor” after the lawsuits filed by ousted Destiny’s Child members), she has the ability to take lemons and make pop culture lemonade. While “Elevator Smackdown” must have2014-beyonce-jay-z-solange-elevator-fight-met-gala- been uncomfortable for her to witness, Beyonce kept the very poise and demeanor that the star’s fans have not only cited as one of the reasons that they show fierce loyalty, but also as the behavior that they have come to expect from their Popstar Queen.

While anticipation of Beyonce’s and Jay-Z’s world domination (easy there illuminati theorists, I’m merely speaking of a concert tour) grows, it has been whispered that the star of “Elevator Whoop Ass” herself, Solange  Hit-A-Hov Knowles, will be the only other act joining the power couple in concert. Though opinions vary on the decision (if true) to have little sis join her on tour, there are certain facts that remain:

1) Beyonce and Solange are and will forever remain sisters related by blood.
2) Beyonce and Jay-Z are legally wed. Period.

The point I present is that although many many people (most of whom Beyonce will never meet or know) offer advice and opinions on how she should handle her sister and handle her husband, ultimately the decision is Beyonce’s-and Beyonce’s alone.

Some have speculated that this incident is a sign of trouble in the marriage.  My response to that would be-probably; however, I am certain that all marriages have their tests, just not captured on security cameras. The fact that Beyonce and Jay-Z are ridiculously rich and famous very definitely amplifies the situation. As time passes, and the frenzy over the leaked footage subsides, Beyonce will probably continue to wow her loyal fans and even give her critics reason to anticipate her next calculated move.

I would not be too surprised if she, Jay-Z, and Solange found a clever way to capitalize off the unfortunate occurrence, either in the form of a song, or some type of special performance during a concert.  One thing I can say with some degree of certainty is that she will continue to sell out shows, and no incident, especially one in which she was not directly involved, will cause her legions of devoted fans to turn their backs just yet.  As things presently stand, it appears that the Beyonce Effect is as formidable now as it has ever been.

I agree that if Solange goes on tour with them she’s gonna get booed. Not unless Jay-Z makes an announcement that they have made up and back to being family. It may or may not work. What has people wondering is that had Jay-Z fought back, I mean REALLY fought back, people would have labbeled him a “beat his sister-in law” kinda guy. What if Jay-Z knocked her out after the first couple of minutes of her tantrums? I doubt if Beyonce would’ve remained that calm in that elevator nor would she had been smiling on the way to the limo.

If it was me, I know for a fact that I would have taken some kind of action. Solange and females like her fit the description of an “angry black female.” REAL WOMEN DO NOT conduct themselves in such a manner. I doubt if JayZ hit her first, but she kicked and yelled/screamed at him. She also spit at him and I bet she yelled curse words at him too. Yep, an angry black female who should have been put in her place. Solange was out of control and too far gone to even calm down long enough to put her temper in check.

Wouldn’t surprise me if Jay didn’t want her on tour with the. Solange probably needs the money since her music doesn’t sell but she doesn’t have a lot of fans. People who will pay to see Jay and Beyonce may not wanna see/hear Solange sing whether she’s Beyonce’s sister or not. It also wouldn’t surprise me that since she’s been riding Beyonce’s coattails, she expects to get whatever she wants and for things to go her way. Just like a spoiled brat. Poor baby.

And the guy who recorded the melee was fired from his job. That was terrible.

Very good, sane article. I don’t believe Jay and Beyonce are having marital problems and think that incident was something between Jay and Solange and it seemed that they both were used to episodes like this from Solange. Whatever the reason she had NO RIGHT to put her feet, hands and body fluid on Jay and people like me are upset and dont’ wanna see her face! I think it would be a bad move to let her join their tour because I guarantee you she will get ‘booed’! I dont think she fully understand how ‘beloved’ Jay is!! Just because you don’t hear about his fans ‘fierce loyalty’ like Beyonce’s ‘Beyhive’ doesnt mean they’re not there and Solange will feel it when she goes out and about in the future. I love how Beyonce and Jay conducted themselves in the elevator and after, they are truly a cool, class act. I do wish when they had released their statement regarding the attack that they would have included this one line, ‘while violence is never the answer in a situation like this and we don’t condone it, she still is family and we love her’! That would have at least let people know that while Beyonce loves her sister she would never condone violence like that.

I agree that this will never hurt Beyonce’s image but she better be careful not to let her ‘blind loyalty’ to her sister, when Solange was definitely wrong, make her people/fans who dont agree with violence upset. I don’t like Solange anymore and I hope Beyonce doens’t let that ignorance affect her positivity.

I totally agree with this article. I am a fan of Beyoncé and Jay Z however I could care less about their personal issues. It does not effect me on a personal level nor will it influence my decisions when I choose music.
