2 Chainz, everyone, is a Rapper. I repeat, a Rapper:

(ThyBlackMan.com) 2 Chainz continues to prove rap is entertainment.

I was chatting with my boss the other week concerning a certain stigma hip hop has been trying to rid itself of, since the emergence of gangsta rap. That stigma I speak of, is of course, the “influence” the lyrics it has over the younger generation of music fans. I told him I’m of the belief that if anyone is influenced of any entertainer to the point of imitation, then whoever was responsible of raising that child has indeed, failed. That’s my opinion, of course.

This brings me to the interesting storyline of 2 Chainz being robbed at gunpoint on Monday. I’m sure there are misled kids ( and sadly) grown men and women who are just dumbfounded that their favorite rapper, who talks so much about selling drugs and having pistols and choppers (AK47’s) got robbed at gunpoint for a few of his possessions. Of course, his camp (or Def2chainz Jam) tried to say it was someone from his entourage who was in fact the intended target in the robbery. 2 Chainz, even in a subtle fashion denied it was him who was robbed, only to have the police come and confirm it was in fact, him, who was the victim. 2 Chainz, I’ll distribute you an E for Effort for trying to protect a rep that no one really cares about, but no cigar for you.

Now with video of 2 Chainz running like a track star after being approached by the gunman, it’s safe to say that rappers are just what they are; rappers. Once the real life situations approaches a tough talking MC, the video is proof that the bravado should strictly not be taken at face value.

So, for anyone who thinks that 2 Chainz lives or lived the life that he raps about, let’s get two things straight; 1. 2 Chainz is a rapper. Yes, a rapper. 2. 2 Chainz is a rapper, yes, I’ll say it again, a rapper. If not, then someone needs to chronicle this phenomenon of drug dealers who magically have rap talent. 2 Chainz, you don’t have to post all of those tweets addressing but not addressing the situation.

You didn’t have to get your camp to say it wasn’t you, that it was someone else. It’s really okay, because if I were in you or your entourages’ situation, I would have given up my stuff and ran like a cockroach with a flashlight on me when the gun was drawn or fired as well. Seriously, it’s okay, 2 Chainz, you are just like any other common person. Who cares if the dude who robbed you was only 5’6 130 pounds? You did the right thing in hindsight. Life materials.

This brings me to the conclusion. 2 Chainz is no different than a say, Sylvester Stallone. And when I say that, I mean it in the fashion that if in the Rocky heyday, if Stallone were to have gotten beaten up outside of a bar, would people say “Ah, man, Rocky really can’t fight.” No, because maybe the Rocky character can fight, but Sylvester Stallone can’t. So technically, Tauheed Epps got robbed, not 2 Chainz. 2 Chainz roles in the industry are to entertain the masses and his core fan base with dumbed down raps concerning women, drugs, and violence. So once he steps out of the booth, he’s Tauheed again.

That’s it, kids and grown men and women who believe in his persona, everyone is capable of being robbed. And for your favorite rapper who brags of having a street rep, it’s a 90% chance he doesn’t have a street rep at all. If it’s your neighborhood stick up man, or the guy who is known for being a tough guy who still got high school rep or that kid in your class who is a notorious thief or bad ass, then maybe you could be surprised. 2 Chainz? Noooooooo. He’s a…or should I even say it?
