Idris Elba was born on Septmeber 6, 1972 and just turned 40 years old. He is best known in the United States by his role in the HBO critically acclaimed series, The Wire.
Idris Elba was born to two African parents and they moved to London when he was very young. Idris Elba worked very hard to be where he is today in the film industry. The actor had to work odd jobs to pay the rent and did everything within his power to make sure that his dreams came true. And, indeed they did. Idris Elba has acted in American Gangster, Takers, The 
Losers, Thor, Prometheus and many other films. He keeps getting better as he takes on new roles.
Currently, Idris Elba is starring in the hit television show entitled Luther, aired on BBC One. In January of 2012, he won a Golden Globe for his portrayal of Detective Luther in the hit TV series. As a producer, Idris Elba has created a Webisode series entitled, Milk and Honey. The Webisode has received a lot of fanfare and hopefully will be filmed again in the future. He starred in Tyler Perry’s, Daddy’s Little Girls, and it was one of the best movies to come out that depicted a man that truly wanted to do right by his daughters despite the fact that he was having problems with his ex-girlfriend in the film. It was a good role for the chocolate actor that is indeed in tune with his inner being.
Being that Idris Elba as a budding music career, it came as no surprise that he also accomplished in this area too. And, it has been reported that he has produced several tracks with well known artists in Hip Hop and has been on a few things. There is nothing wrong with honing all of your talents that were given to you. Idris Elba is making sure that he does just that!
