She remembers the exact way you love to have your head massaged at the end of a long day, and she remembers to leave the jalapeños out of the recipe because you don’t like them.
She lights up. She beams when she lays eyes on you, even if it’s only been since yesterday. She’s genuinely delighted to see you, and she lets you know with a warm smile, a big wraparound hug and a telling kiss.
She’s got your back. If your car breaks down, she’s happy to come pick you up. If you had a rough day at work and need to blow off steam about your annoying boss, she’s happy to listen. If you’re down with the flu, she’s happy to bring you some chicken soup.
She lets you in. She trusts you with her heart. She shares her emotional ups and downs with you and asks for your honest advice. She’s not afraid to cry on your shoulder or let you see her on an off day. Besides being her beau, she considers you to be a true friend.
She looks ahead. When she muses about big adventures she’d like to undertake in the future, she includes you in the picture. She opens the travel section of the Sunday paper and says, “Maybe we should check out Greece next spring. Or, Spain. How about you—what places are on your travel wish list?” She may even hint at that house with the white picket fence she dreams of owning someday, with you.
Congratulations, brother—she’s a winner and thinks you’re the bomb. While you’re basking in the bounty of her sweet love, just remember that true love is all about give and take. Make sure you’re showing her just how much you treasure her too—then go ahead and book that villa for two overlooking the Mediterranean. You two lovebirds are poised to start collecting memories that may just last a lifetime.
