What: Students from eight historically black colleges and universities will test their marketing skills in an effort to energize their schools’ alumni support. The competition, sponsored by Nationwide Insurance, is part of a case competition to help students better understand  real world marketing principles. Each member of the winning team will receive $2000 in scholarship dollars.

Participating students will develop a marketing strategy encouraging alumni to increase support of their specific university. The goal is for the participating universities to officially use these case studies to help generate additional alumni support.

Who: Students from Winston Salem State University, Shaw University, Johnson C. Smith University, North Carolina A&T University, Virginia Union State University, Virginia State University, Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University; university staff and Nationwide associates.

When: Saturday, April 9. Media availability to capture student presentations and interviews from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (no activities from noon to 1:30)

Where: The campus of North Carolina A&T, 1601 E. Market St.
Greensboro, NC – Merrick Hall, Rooms 322 and 323
